The Grade 4th and 5th students of Greenwood High School, Hunter Road had an enriching and informative visit to the Fire Station today. The visit was organized as part of our experiential learning program to help students understand real-life safety systems and the essential services that support our community.

During the visit, the firefighters warmly welcomed our students and explained the importance of fire safety, emergency preparedness and the critical role of the fire department. Students were excited to watch a live demonstration of firefighting techniques, the use of safety equipment and the functioning of fire engines. They also learned about emergency response procedures and how firefighters act swiftly and bravely during rescue operations.

The interactive session allowed students to ask questions, explore the equipment and gain practical knowledge that goes beyond classroom learning. The firefighters’ dedication and discipline left a strong impression on our young learners.

“Real learning happens when curiosity meets experience.”
This visit truly brought classroom concepts to life and inspired our students to be more aware, responsible and safety-conscious.

Overall, it was a memorable and impactful learning experience for our students and we extend our sincere thanks to the Fire Station team for their support and cooperation.

We also extend our appreciation to the school management, whose continuous support and cooperation have made it possible to organize such educational trips that help children learn beyond the classroom.
