Children’s Day celebration 2024 – Hunter Road


“Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.”

November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day or Bal Diwas every year in India. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.

The day focused on children and their enjoyment. Greenwood High School Hunter Road celebrated children’s day with a lot fun and enthusiasm. Students of classes 6th to 10thgathered in the ground to celebrate the event. The program started with an informative speech given on Chacha Nehru followed by different speeches about the special day. Children of classes 6 to 8 executed an exquisite classical dance performance on Aigiri Nandi which shows the power of different goddesses. Followed by a classic fusion performance. 

Students of different class and section came together to perform and make this day more memorable for all of us. Students did group dance on songs like Mauja Hi Mauja and Morni Banke.T he audience were supportive and showed great energy as the event was going on. Children were Happy Go Lucky throughout the event.

Teacher’s played their important role on this day as they prepared a special assembly including poem recitation, thought, general knowledge questions. Teachers from higher secondary school performed an amazing skit to bring out the joy and laughter The skits was a presentation of types of students in a classroom.



The event stepped to the finale with a beautiful instrumental performance of Mridungum by a student of class 7th.

Words of appreciation were given the dean of academic Ravinder sir. He encouraged all the students and teachers for their amazing performances that made this day successful. With his   words the gathering had dispersed, and the day came to an end.
