Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Greenwood High School, Mancherial, bringing joy and cultural appreciation to all. Under the guidance of Principal Mr. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi, students and staff came together to observe the festival in a traditional and vibrant manner.
The event was anchored by Rujula and Yashaswi from 8th grade (Kaloji), who set the tone with warmth and excitement. The celebration began as students gathered on the ground, where a beautiful Bommala Koluvu was arranged on the dais, adding a traditional touch to the festivities. Dignitaries were welcomed onto the dais, followed by a serene Lakshmi Pooja performed by Principal Mr. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. Thirupathi, symbolizing prosperity and happiness.
The celebration continued with engaging cultural performances. The first-grade girls opened the event with a charming dance, followed by a delightful performance by nursery and LKG students, capturing the innocence and joy of the young performers. Students Aadhya Chenna, Sahasram A, and Tanu shree from grade 6 then shared insights on the significance of Diwali, adding meaning to the occasion.

The celebration featured heartfelt speeches in Telugu by Mahendar Sir and Venkateswarulu Sir, followed by an explanation of Diwali’s significance in Hindi by Anurag from grade 5, showcasing the school’s linguistic diversity. A mesmerizing dance by the girls of grade 7 added vibrancy to the program.
Principal Mr. Chandramohan concluded with an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of Diwali’s values of unity, hope, and the triumph of good over evil. The event wrapped up with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi, acknowledging the hard work of everyone involved.
