The English Department of Greenwood High School organised the much-awaited Mega English Quiz Competition, “LinguaQuest–25”, with the inspiring tagline “Unravel the Power of Language”, on 29 November 2025. The programme turned out to be a vibrant celebration of knowledge, language proficiency, and healthy competition, offering students a memorable platform to experience the joy of learning beyond the classroom.

Programme Highlights
The event began on a dignified note with the Welcome Address, where the school warmly greeted and honoured the esteemed dignitaries:
Director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, Principal Sri V. V. V. Naveen Kumar sir, Principal Sri T. Pavan Kumar sir, and Vice Principal Sri Suresh Kumar sir.

To set an energetic tone for the morning, students from Class X – Kalam, led by Siri Varshini and group, presented a graceful Welcome Dance to the motivational song “Positive Affirmations – Yes I Can, Yes We Can”. The dance was beautifully choreographed and guided by Ms. Shirin Naaz madam, leaving the audience fully charged and inspired.
One of the special attractions of the event was the Teaser Video designed by Ms. Mercy Leena madam, capturing the entire journey of LinguaQuest–25 —
- The LinguaQuest Poster Release on 6 November during the special assembly (with the banner artistically painted by G. Krishna Rao sir) and unveiled by Director sir.
- The Preliminary Written Test conducted on 8 November for all students of Classes VIII, IX, and X.
- The Viva Voce Round held on 18 November for shortlisted top scorers from each section.
The teaser brought alive the hard work, enthusiasm, and preparation that led up to the grand finale.
The Quiz Begins




After the introductions, the four final teams with 6 members in each one were invited onto the stage:
- The Shakespeare’s Squad
- The Robin Klein Rangers
- The Dickens Detectives
- The Wordsworth Warriors
The grand quiz consisted of four highly engaging rounds —
- Literature Round
- Vocabulary Round
- Communication & Language Skills Round
- Grammar Round
Each round featured 16 thoughtfully curated questions, presented through an impressive and visually appealing PPT designed by G. Krishna Rao sir.
The quiz was conducted by dynamic quiz masters Ms. Mercy Leena madam and Ms. Shirin Naaz madam, who ensured that the event remained lively, fair, and well-paced.


To keep the competition transparent and exciting, the scoreboard was continuously updated by Radha Krishnan sir.
The open auditorium buzzed with energy as teams battled with confidence, quick thinking, and excellent command of English knowledge.
Address by Director Sir
Director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, in his inspiring address, appreciated the students’ outstanding efforts and highlighted the importance of language mastery in today’s competitive world. He emphasised that programmes like LinguaQuest make learning enjoyable, promote critical thinking, and help students develop strong communication skills, which are essential for academic and personal success.

The audience greeted the results with huge applause, acknowledging the participants’ consistency, talent, and teamwork.
Behind the Scenes – The Journey of LinguaQuest–25
LinguaQuest–25 was not just a quiz but the outcome of a month-long academic celebration:
- 6 November – Poster Release by Director sir
- 8 November – Preliminary Written MCQ Test for all students of Classes 8–10 for 30 marks
- 18 November – Viva Voce (Oral Test for 20 marks) for shortlisted students
- 28 November – English Department teachers personally met the dignitaries with greeting notes and invited them to the finale.
All question papers, MCQs, viva questions, and rounds were meticulously prepared by the English Department under the leadership of HOD Sri T. Vijay Kanth sir, with special design support from G. Krishna Rao sir and Narasimha Rao sir.
The dedication of the entire team ensured the event’s smooth, professional, and successful execution.
Students’ Experience
Many students expressed that LinguaQuest–25 was one of the most enriching learning experiences of the year. They shared that:
- The quiz helped them revise English concepts in a fun and interactive way.
- The competitive environment motivated them to push their boundaries.
- They enjoyed working in teams and learning from one another.
- The Viva Voce round improved their confidence in speaking.
- They felt inspired to read more books, practise vocabulary, and develop communication skills.
Several participants said that the event made them feel “like real quiz stars on a national stage.”
Vote of Thanks & National Anthem
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, appreciating the guidance of the management, the efforts of the English Department, the support of teachers, and the enthusiastic participation of students.
The programme ended with the National Anthem, filling the hall with pride and unity.
LinguaQuest–25 stands as a shining example of Greenwood High School’s commitment to nurturing linguistic excellence and creating meaningful learning experiences. Such events not only enhance students’ academic abilities but also build their confidence, creativity, and love for the English language.
The day will remain a cherished memory for all who participated and witnessed the celebration of language, learning, and talent.
