Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, Hanumakonda, believes that learning becomes more meaningful when students experience it beyond the classroom. With this vision, the school organized an educational visit to the historic Kolanupaka Jain Temple (Kulpakji), located at Kolanupaka Village, Alair Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, Telangana. The visit was planned to help students learn about heritage, culture, history, and art in a practical and engaging way.

Kolanupaka Jain Temple is one of the oldest and most important Jain pilgrimage centers in South India. It is well known for its ancient architecture, beautifully carved stone pillars, and sacred idols of Chintamani Parshvanath and Lord Mahavira. The temple’s peaceful and spiritual environment left a deep impression on the students. Teachers explained the historical background of the temple and its importance in Jain culture, helping students understand values such as discipline, simplicity, and non-violence.

As part of the Art Integration Learning Program, students actively participated in a Live Sketch Drawing Activity at the temple premises. They carefully observed the temple’s architecture, carvings, and surroundings and expressed their observations through drawings. This activity helped students improve their creativity, observation skills, and concentration. It also helped them understand how art and history are closely connected.

The live sketch drawing session was conducted under the guidance of Art and Craft Teacher Ms. Banaja Sahoo, who encouraged students and guided them step by step. Her support and motivation helped students confidently express their creativity and enjoy the learning process. The entire program was well planned and successfully conducted under the leadership of Academic Principal Mr. V. V. V. Naveen Kumar, whose academic vision supports experiential learning. Strong administrative support was provided by Administrative Principal Mr. T. Pavan Kumar, who ensured proper coordination, discipline, and student safety throughout the visit.

The management of Greenwood Group of Schools always encourages such innovative learning experiences. The Director, Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, strongly believes in holistic and value-based education and supports activities that help students learn beyond textbooks. The General Manager, Mr. A. Prabhu Kumar, also plays an important role by promoting programs that enhance creativity, cultural awareness, and overall student development.

All the dignitaries appreciated the students for their discipline, enthusiasm, and creative efforts. The educational visit to Kolanupaka Jain Temple became a memorable experience that enriched students’ knowledge, artistic skills, and cultural understanding. Greenwood High School continues to provide joyful and meaningful learning opportunities that help students grow academically, creatively, and morally.
