National Mathematics Day Celebrations at Greenwood High School, Mancherial


Greenwood High School, Mancherial, celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and academic fervor under the guidance of Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan, Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi, and mathematics faculty Mrs. Soujanya Latha, Mr. Ramakrishna, Mr. Saba Firdose, and Mrs. Amitha Ma’am.and Mrs Premalatha .

The day began with a *special morning assembly, where the portrait of the legendary mathematician *Srinivasa Ramanujan was garlanded to honor his contributions to mathematics. This was followed by an insightful *explanation of ‘Mathematics in Nature’, accompanied by engaging *activities conducted by the mathematics department. A Mathematics Expo was also organized, with *Mr. Venkatesh, **Mr. Rajesh Khanna, and *Mr. Rajesh serving as judges, evaluating the innovative projects displayed by students.

In the *afternoon session, students and staff gathered on the school ground for the main event, anchored by *R. Tanmayi and Ch. Sai Tejaswi. The event featured a vibrant lineup of activities:

  • A fancy dress competition, where students portrayed famous mathematicians.
  • A speech by Deekshitha from 8th Sathish Dhawan, highlighting Ramanujan’s contributions.
  • An energetic dance performance by 5th-grade children.
  • A skit by 8th Kaloji that creatively emphasized the importance of mathematics in daily life.
  • Finger Maths demonstration by Ch. Thanvi and S. Sreeja.
  • A speech by Lineesha on the significance of mathematics.
  • An insightful session on Vedic Maths by Mrs. Soujanya Latha and Mrs. Saba Firdous.
  • Table tricks were demonstrated by Rajesh Sir, captivating the students with fun mathematical concepts.

Additionally, a Rangoli competition was held, and the winners were:

  • *K. Amuktha Kasthuri, **K. Deekshitha, and *B. Hanika from 8th Sathish Dhawan.
  • Ch. Sai Tejaswi and S. Thanusri from 9th Sathish Dhawan.

The Math Expo winners were:

  • Sahasra and Aradhya from Grades 1 & 2.
  • *M. Harshith Varma, **S. Ishaan, and *G. Srikruth from Grade 5.
  • A. Moksha and S. Sejal from 7th Sathish Dhawan.
  • *J. Aniketh, **Ch. Amith Chandra, and *M. Surya Siddharth showcased outstanding projects.

Mathematical riddles added an element of fun and excitement to the celebrations, keeping students actively engaged throughout.
