Republic Day Celebration at Greenwood High School, Gopalpur


The Republic Day celebrations at Greenwood High School, Gopalpur, were marked with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The event began with the escort of our esteemed guest, Sri. A. Prabhu Kumar Sir, followed by a warm welcome address by Principal Mrs. Kavita Chawla. The national flag was then hoisted by Prabhu Kumar Sir, accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem. The students of Grades 3 to 7 performed a disciplined and spirited parade, showcasing their dedication to the nation.

Speech: R. Shaanavi of Class 6 delivered an inspiring speech.

Fancy Dress Competition: Pre-primary students (Nursery, LKG, and UKG) dressed as freedom fighters stole the show with their adorable performances.

Classes 1 and 2 presented a moving dance on “Oh Desh Mere Tere Shaan Ke Sadke”, portraying soldiers on the Indian border.

Class 3 girls performed “Vatan Yeh Yaad Rahega”, while the boys energized the crowd with “A Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo,” spreading awareness about road safety.

An award ceremony followed, where certificates were handed over by Prabhu Kumar Sir and Ms. Kavita Chawla to the winners of various competitions, including:

  • Storytelling
  • Essay Writing
  • Drawing
  • Solo Singing

Special Performances:

Class 4 Skit: A MIME performance on Unity in Diversity left the audience with a powerful message.

Dance by Classes 5, 6 & 7: The older students showcased their talent with a vibrant and energetic group dance.

LKG Quiz: A special Q&A round was conducted for LKG students on the topic of National Symbols, engaging the youngest participants.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets and a heartfelt message from the school, wishing everyone a Happy Republic Day.
