Sankranthi Celebrations at Greenwood High School, Mancherial


Greenwood High School, Mancherial, celebrated Sankranthi with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor under the guidance of Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi.

The celebrations began with a gathering on the school ground, where the dignitaries lit a bonfire symbolizing the Bhogi festival, a key aspect of Sankranthi. The event commenced with the Bhogipallu ceremony for children from Nursery to 3rd class, creating a joyful atmosphere. A Fancy Dress Competition and a Rangoli Competition were also organized, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of the students.

The afternoon session began with the dignitaries inaugurating the cultural program with the Bommalakoluvu display, a beautiful arrangement of traditional dolls. The cultural events included vibrant performances, starting with dances by 1st and 2nd-grade students. This was followed by a heartwarming speech in Telugu by Mr. Venkateswarlu, emphasizing the significance of the festival. Students from 4th and 5th classes captivated the audience with their synchronized dance performance.



Varjith Chandra of Grade 4 Lily delivered a delightful Telugu speech, followed by a thought-provoking English speech by Aamuktha Kasthuri of 8th Sathish Dhawan. Adding to the celebration, students from 6th and 7th grades performed an energetic dance.

The program continued with a motivational Telugu speech by Mr. Mahendar, after which 8th and 9th-grade girls presented a mesmerizing dance performance.

The Vice Principal and Principal delivered inspiring messages, emphasizing the cultural and agricultural significance of Sankranthi. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Srinivas, appreciating the efforts of everyone involved.

The Sankranthi celebrations at Greenwood High School were a perfect blend of tradition and joy, leaving everyone with cherished memories of the festive spirit.
