Raksha Bandhan Celebrations at Greenwood High School-Hunter Road.
From Greenwood High School โ Hunter Road, Warangal
โThreads are small, but they hold the power to bind hearts forever.โ
ย
As part of our Saturday Funday activity, the creative hands of our young Greenwooodians wove magic into threads, crafting beautiful rakhis with love and imagination. Today, the campus bloomed in festive spirit as we celebrated Raksha Bandhan โ a festival that strengthens the threads of love, care and protection.
The celebration was graced by our Vice Principal, Mr. Srikanth, and ACO, Mrs. Rajeshwari, whose presence added warmth and encouragement to the occasion. In a heartwarming gesture, the students also tied rakhis to our Vice Principal, symbolizing the bond of respect, guidance and affection that they share with their mentors.
The children arrived in radiant traditional attire, looking like a flutter of colourful butterflies, bringing life and vibrance to every corner of the school. Laughter and joy echoed as the girls adorned their brothers and friends with tilak, tied their lovingly-made rakhis and shared sweets, sealing the bond with affection and smiles.
This celebration was more than a ritual โ it was a lesson in values, reminding us of the importance of respect, unity and empathy. It reflected the beauty of Indian traditions, where love is tied not just on wrists, but also in hearts. Truly, it was a day where culture met creativity and joy became the common language for all.
In todayโs world, where everything moves fast and attention is constantly pulled in different directions, learning to value time has never been more important. Chronoethics is the concept of respecting time โ being punctual, staying organized, and using each moment with purpose. Itโs not just about following a schedule; itโs about living with intention and being mindful of how time is spent.
When time is respected, productivity naturally improves. Tasks feel more manageable, deadlines arenโt as overwhelming, and thereโs a sense of control over the day. People who are consistent with their time are often seen as dependable and self-disciplined โ traits that go a long way, whether in academics, work, or personal life. On top of that, good time management creates room for rest, hobbies, and relationships, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling routine.
Of course, itโs not always easy to stay on track. Procrastination, distractions (especially digital ones), and low motivation can get in the way. But small, practical strategies โ like breaking tasks into steps, setting clear goals, and limiting unnecessary screen time โ can make a big difference. Progress doesnโt have to be perfect, just steady.
Ultimately, chronoethics is about more than just being on time. Itโs about respecting oneโs own life and the time of others. When time is treated as something valuable, life starts to feel more organized, less stressful, and a lot more meaningful. Respecting time is one of the simplest but most powerful ways to live with clarity and purpose.
As the golden rays of a new academic year dawned over Greenwood High School, the campus came alive with anticipation, joy and a renewed sense of purpose. Students and teachers assembled in the central courtyardโa space symbolic of unity and learning. The warm smiles of teachers and the quiet rustle of crisp uniforms set a hopeful tone for the journey ahead.

Every child is special in his or her own way. Just like no two stars in the sky are exactly the same, no two children are the same. Each child is born with special qualities, talents, and dreams. Some children are good at drawing, some are great at sports, and others may love to sing, dance, or solve puzzles. When we take time to notice and appreciate these differences, we are celebrating uniqueness.
In schools and homes, we often see that some children are better at certain things than others. It is easy to praise a child who gets high marks or wins prizes. But it is also important to remember that every child has something bright inside them. For example, a child who is kind and always helps others has a gift of kindness. Another child may not speak much, but may be a deep thinker and a great observer. When we celebrate these qualities, we help children feel proud of who they are.
It is natural to compare ourselves with others. Many children feel sad when they see someone doing something they cannot do. But we must remember that we all have different strengths. The world is like a big garden with many types of flowers. Roses, sunflowers, and lilies are all different, but each one is beautiful. In the same way, our world needs children with different talents and ideas.
Teachers and parents play an important role in helping children discover their unique gifts. When they encourage children to try new things and support them when they fail, children gain confidence. A simple smile or kind words like “You did your best” or “I am proud of you” can make a big difference. When children feel accepted for who they are, they grow into happy and confident adults.
Celebrating uniqueness also means respecting others. When we learn to accept people who are different from us, we create a kinder and more peaceful world. Children should be taught to respect othersโ talents and dreams, even if they are not the same as their own. For example, a child who loves reading can cheer for a friend who enjoys dancing. By doing this, we build strong friendships and a loving community.
It is also important to give every child a chance to shine. School programs like talent shows, art exhibitions, storytelling contests, or sports days allow children to show their abilities. Even small classroom activities where every child gets a turn to speak or share can help them feel valued.
Every child is a star with their own light. Some stars shine brightly in the sky right away, while others take time to glow. What matters is that each star is important and special. When we celebrate the uniqueness of every child, we help them believe in themselves. We create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and loved. So let us always remember โ every child is a star, and together they make the sky beautiful.
Place values are the values of each digit in a number based on its position. Starting from the right, each place value gets bigger by 10 times. The place values are:
Ones (1)
Tens (10)
Hundreds (100)
How to Write Numbers in Expanded Form
Let’s take the number 456. To write this number in expanded form, we break it down into its place values:
400 (hundreds)
50 (tens)
6 (ones)
So, the expanded form of 456 is:
400 + 50 + 6
Why is Expanded Form Important?
Writing numbers in expanded form helps us understand the value of each digit and how they contribute to the total number. It’s like breaking down a big puzzle into smaller pieces!
Example
Let’s try another example. The number 279 can be broken down into:
200 (hundreds)
70 (tens)
9 (ones)
So, the expanded form of 279 is:
200 + 70 + 9
Conclusion
In conclusion, expanded form is a powerful tool that helps us understand numbers better. By breaking down numbers into their place values, we can see how each digit contributes to the total number. So, next time you see a big number, try breaking it down into its expanded form!
