As part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 experiential learning initiative, the students of Greenwood High School, Hunter Road, Warangal, visited the Hanamkonda Raithu Bazaar today.
The visit provided the young learners with valuable real-world exposure to understand how a local market functions and to appreciate the dedicated efforts of farmers and vendors who play a crucial role in our daily lives. The students keenly observed the market setup, interacted with farmers and customers. They also learned about the process of buying and selling fresh produce.
As part of their environmental awareness drive, the students spread meaningful messages on the harmful effects of plastic usage and encouraged the public to use eco-friendly cloth and jute bags instead. They also carried colorful placards with creative slogans, inspiring everyone to โsay no to plasticโ and adopt sustainable practices.
In addition, the children learned to identify various vegetables and discovered their nutritional importance in maintaining a healthy diet. This hands-on experience allowed them to connect classroom learning with real-world understanding, nurturing values of social responsibility and environmental consciousness.
The school management appreciated the enthusiasm and active participation of the students. Directors Sri. G. Bharadwaj Naidu and GM A. Mr.Prabhu Kumar, Principal Mrs. Manjula Devi and Coordinator Mrs. Rajeshwari encouraged and supported the initiative wholeheartedly. The spirit of festivity and joy filled the air as our Greenwood High school celebrated the vibrant festival of lights โ Diwali โ with devotion, enthusiasm and cultural splendour. The celebration commenced with a serene and spiritual atmosphere as our tiny Greenhoodies chanted Shlokas, invoking divine blessings of wisdom, prosperity and knowledge.
The ceremonial Deeparadhana was performed by our respected Principal, Mrs. Manjula Devi, Vice Principal, Mr. Srikanth, and ACO, Mrs. Rajeshwari, before the idol of Maa Lakshmi, spreading an aura of spirituality and positivity throughout the campus.
The cultural program was a wonderful blend of tradition and festivity. The primary students enthralled everyone with their classical dance performances, presenting Ganesh Stuti, Lakshmi Ashtakam and a vibrant Diwali celebration song that filled the atmosphere with joy and festive spirit. Students also delivered informative and thoughtful speeches on various themes โ from the significance of Diwali and the rituals followed, to the special delicacies prepared during the festival and the importance of celebrating a safe and eco-friendly Diwali.
Our respected Principal, Mrs. Manjula Devi, addressed the gathering and motivated the students to celebrate Diwali safely and responsibly. She also explained the true essence and reason behind the celebration of Diwali, emphasizing the victory of good over evil and light over darkness, inspiring students to follow the path of truth, kindness and positivity.

As part of promoting Experiential Learning under NEP 2020, our Pre-Primary students of Greenwood High School, Hunter Road, visited the Warangal Railway Station. The visit aimed to provide children with hands-on learning and help them understand the functioning and importance of the railway system.
Students were introduced to different sections of the station โ the ticket booking counter, ATVM ticket machine and platform areas. They learned about the importance of tickets, observed how passengers stand in a queue to purchase them and explored the railway chart showing train names, numbers, arrival and departure timings and days of service.
They also learned about platform numbers, the use of red and green flags, signal lights and announcements made for trains. Children eagerly explored the waiting hall, entry and exit boards, escalator and discussed rules to follow while traveling. The excitement on their faces as they watched the trains arrive and depart was truly delightful!
This experiential trip not only enhanced their knowledge but also sparked curiosity and joy in learning beyond the classroom.

A bright student from Grade 5 of Greenwood High School โ Erragattugutta, Hasanparthy, delivered an impressive speech on the topic โAdvantages and Disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence.โ
She explained how Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important part of our lives โ making tasks easier, improving learning experiences, and helping in various fields like education, healthcare, and communication.
At the same time, she thoughtfully discussed the challenges of AI, mentioning that over-dependence on machines may reduce human creativity, emotional understanding, and even lead to joblessness in the future, as robots and computers might replace certain kinds of human work.
Her presentation reflected deep thinking, confidence, and awareness about how technology can be both a friend and a challenge in todayโs world.
Students of Greenwood High School โ Naimnagar, Hanumakonda, performed an insightful drama on the topic โSmartphone Addiction.โ The performance delivered a strong message โ โDonโt let children use smartphones excessively.โ
Through their well-acted scenes, the students highlighted how overuse of smartphones can seriously disturb both physical and mental health. They explained how long screen time can cause eye strain, poor posture, lack of focus, and even emotional stress. The drama also portrayed how children today are losing real-life interaction and creativity due to excessive gadget use.
Their message encouraged everyone to use technology wisely and spend more time on learning, sports, and family bonding. The performance was appreciated by teachers and parents for its meaningful content and powerful presentation.

Dasara is one of the biggest festivals in our country. It is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. On this day, Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura. It teaches us that truth and goodness will always win in the end.
People celebrate Dasara with prayers, pujas, Bathukamma, bommala koluvu, and by lighting up their homes. In some places, Ramleela is performed, and the effigy of Ravana is burnt, which shows the defeat of evil.
For us students, Dasara is a time to learn good values, respect elders, and follow the path of truth. Festivals like Dasara bring happiness, unity, and positive energy in our lives.

Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, celebrated Vinayaka Chavithi in a grand manner on August 27, 2025 Wednesday with colour, devotion, and environmental awareness. The annual festivities, blending spirituality with eco-conscious practices, featured the installation of a hand-crafted idol of Lord Ganesha, a lively procession, devotional rituals, cultural programmer, and a nine-day bhajana series.
Colourful Procession and Puja
The celebrations on August 27 began with a grand procession as the Ganesha idol was carried from the school gate to the Mandapam amidst chants of โGanapathi Bappa Moriyaโ. Traditional music, saffron headbands, and enthusiastic participation by students and staff filled the atmosphere with festive joy. Priests later performed the Ganesh Puja with rituals and devotional offerings, invoking blessings for wisdom, prosperity, and peace. Cultural programmes, including songs, dances, and sloka recitations, added vibrancy to the evening.
Nine Nights of Bhajana
A nine-day bhajana programme was held following the installation of the idol. Led by Mr. Jampala Ramesh, Head of the Telugu Department, the sessions included bhajans and devotional slokas. Students actively participated, enriching their spiritual learning while strengthening cultural values.
Eco-Conscious Immersion
The idol was immersed on September 5 at the Hasanparthy pond. A decorated vehicle carried the idol in a final, solemn procession.

The programme commenced with prayers and floral tributes to freedom fighters. This was followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by the chief guests, amid the singing of the National Anthem by the assembled students and staff. The schoolโs marching contingents presented a parade, drawing applause for their discipline and synchrony.

Sri. Ch. Dharma Reddy, Honโble Director, urged students to work with dedication and sincerity for the nationโs progress. He expressed his pride in Greenwood alumni who have made their mark in different parts of the world, sharing how he had been pleasantly surprised on several occasions when former students greeted him unexpectedly in various countries and workplaces.
Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, Honโble Director, reflected on the sacrifices of the nationโs freedom fighters and called upon everyone to uphold the values of democracy. Expressing his amazement at Indiaโs rapid development in recent times, he also touched upon the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence across various fields. However, he firmly stated that the noble profession of teaching stands apart and cannot be replaced by any technology, for it shapes not only intellect but also character.
Sri. G. Yellappa Naidu emphasized the role of education in building a strong and self-reliant India. Reminiscing about his own school days, he fondly recalled how his teachers encouraged students to visit villages and inspire people to contribute to the freedom movement in different ways. His anecdotes brought alive the spirit of those times, bridging the gap between past struggles and present aspirations.
Sri. A. Prabhu Kumar, General Manager, motivated students to set high goals and maintain discipline as a guiding principle in life. He expressed his delight at having Sri. G. Yellappa Naidu in attendance, noting that he had recently celebrated his 96th birthday and was a living witness to the days of the independence struggle.

Teachers, including Mr. G. Krishna Rao, Mr. M. Ranga Rao, Mr. K. Yakub Reddy, Mr. T. Vijaykanth, Mr. Ranjith Behra, Mr. S. Kiran, Mr. A. Venu Kumar, Mrs. Ayesha, and Mrs. Sarala, shared their thoughts, blending patriotic messages with motivating advice.

Cultural Extravaganza
The cultural segment was a vibrant tribute to Indiaโs unity in diversity. It added colour to the morningโs proceedings.
Dance performances ranged from the soulful โMade in Indiaโ by Class IV & V girls to energetic numbers like โKandhon Se Milte Hainโ by Class VIII, โChalla Mai Lad Jaanaโ by Class IX, and โIndia Waleโ by Class X.
Skits such as โWings of Willโ conveyed strong patriotic messages.
Special tribute performances like โPadavoiBharathiyuda,โ โSalam India,โ and โVandemataramโ mesmerised the audience.
The Dumbbells, Hoops, Leizem dances, and Pyramids presented by students showcased discipline, teamwork, and physical prowess under the mentorship of PET staff.
Each act was met with thunderous applause, making the celebration both entertaining and deeply meaningful.
The event was anchored by S. Sai Shashira, R. Rishika and M. Saanvi under the mentorship of Mr. T. Vijaykanth, whose guidance ensured a seamless flow of the programme. The vote of thanks was proposed by Principal Sri. V.V.V. Naveen Kumar, who appreciated the sincere efforts of all students and staff for making the celebration a grand success.

Greenwood High School, Mancherial branch, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation with grandeur and patriotic fervour under the able guidance of Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi. The day commenced at 8:00 a.m. with the ceremonial welcome of the dignitaries, marked by an impressive march past led by the schoolโs P.E.T., Mr. M. Sagar.
The programme began with a soul-stirring rendition of Vande Mataram by the school choir, followed by๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ณ the flag hoisting ceremony performed by the PrincipalMr. R. Chandramohan accompanied by the National Anthem sung in unison by all present. Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan then addressed the gathering, inspiring students with his words on the significance of freedom and the responsibility it brings.
๐ A special attraction of the day was the beautifully decorated dais, artistically designed by ๐จ๐จ๐จArt Teacher Mr. J. Suresh, which created an ambience of patriotism and elegance, drawing admiration from everyone present. ๐

The audience was then charmed by the tiny tots of Nursery, LKG, and UKG โ Arjun, Riyan, Rudransh, Vihan, Viyan, Virat, Nihan, Srihan, Shaanvi, Veeksha, and Dhrithisri โ trained by Mrs. Kavitha, Ms. Harika, and Mrs. Nithya Sri.

Sricharan (Grade 10), reflected patriotic pride and cultural richness, under the guidance of Mr. Mahendra, Mr. Venkateswarlu, Mrs. Meera, and Mrs. Sunitha.
The celebrations continued with a lively UKG dance, followed by a heartfelt patriotic song by Nehaswi ,Thanushri,Lineesha and SriNithya ๐ผ๐ผ.

and a skit by Grade 7 boys Sahith and Aadvik, Karthikeya and Nethra Varma under Mr. Mahender , kept the audience engaged.

followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Tejaswi Madam (Social Science Teacher).

To encourage co-curricular talent, various competitions such as essay writing, drawing, and elocution were organized. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes as a token of appreciation and encouragement.
The Directors took a moment to express their appreciation for the dedication and hard work of all staff members, urging them to continue their efforts in shaping young minds with the same passion and commitment.

As part of our Saturday Funday activity, the creative hands of our young Greenwooodians wove magic into threads, crafting beautiful rakhis with love and imagination. Today, the campus bloomed in festive spirit as we celebrated Raksha Bandhan โ a festival that strengthens the threads of love, care and protection.
The celebration was graced by our Vice Principal, Mr. Srikanth, and ACO, Mrs. Rajeshwari, whose presence added warmth and encouragement to the occasion. In a heartwarming gesture, the students also tied rakhis to our Vice Principal, symbolizing the bond of respect, guidance and affection that they share with their mentors.
The children arrived in radiant traditional attire, looking like a flutter of colourful butterflies, bringing life and vibrance to every corner of the school. Laughter and joy echoed as the girls adorned their brothers and friends with tilak, tied their lovingly-made rakhis and shared sweets, sealing the bond with affection and smiles.
This celebration was more than a ritual โ it was a lesson in values, reminding us of the importance of respect, unity and empathy. It reflected the beauty of Indian traditions, where love is tied not just on wrists, but also in hearts. Truly, it was a day where culture met creativity and joy became the common language for all.
