Absenteeism – Effects on Childs Progress in Education

#Founders Pen

Attending school every day might seem like a tedious routine, but it is super important. Student absenteeism, which means missing school without a valid reason, can lead to serious problems. First, the students miss out on learning new things and getting good grades.

Teachers explain lessons, and classmates discuss ideas – if they are not there, they lose out!

Second, friends help their peers grow, and if one absents a lot, he / she might miss making great friends. Social skills are important for life, and school is a place to practice them.

When they are not there, they miss chances to learn teamwork and communication.

Third, school prepares the students for the future. Jobs need people who are responsible and punctual. If the students miss school, they might get used to being lazy and late.

This could hurt them later on when they are trying to find a job or succeed in college.

In conclusion, skipping school might seem cool, but it’s not. Students miss learning, friendship, and important life skills.

It is our collective responsibility to see that every child is present and engaged, so that they can have a brighter future.

Parents Role

Parents play a pivotal role in shaping the character and moral compass of their children. From the earliest stages of development, parents serve as role models and guides, instilling values, beliefs, and behaviors that lay the foundation for a child’s character.

First and foremost, parents model behaviors and attitudes that children observe and emulate. Children learn empathy, kindness, honesty, and resilience by observing how their parents interact with others and handle challenges. Parents who demonstrate respect for others and show compassion create an environment conducive to character development.

Furthermore, communication is vital in character building. Open and meaningful conversations between parents and children allow for discussions on ethical dilemmas, decision-making, and personal values. Parents can encourage critical thinking and empathy by engaging in these discussions and fostering a safe space for their children to express their thoughts.

Discipline and boundaries also contribute to character formation. Consistent and fair discipline teaches children about responsibility, accountability, and the consequences of their actions. Setting boundaries helps children understand the importance of respecting rules and the rights of others.

Additionally, parents can expose their children to diverse experiences and perspectives, broadening their horizons and promoting tolerance and understanding. Encouraging involvement in community service or volunteering cultivates a sense of social responsibility and compassion for others.

Thus, parents are the primary architects of their children’s character. Through their words, actions, guidance, and support, parents mold the moral and ethical framework that shapes the individuals their children become. It is a profound responsibility that, when undertaken thoughtfully and consistently, contributes to the betterment of both the child and society at large.

Teach children the importance of health and wellbeing

On the 1st of August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conferred Lokmanya Tilak National Award in Pune. The Award is named after Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the first nationalist leader who strongly advocated self-rule with the slogan “Swaraj is my birthright I shall have it.”  Unlike the most other first-generation national leaders who happened to be foreign educated, Tilak had completed his education in India. He has a distinct name in the India’s freedom struggle for his ingenuity.

Tilak, in his autobiography writes that when he was a teenager, as he had started to understand the colonial rule and India’s lack of freedom, he reflected how he can contribute to the country. To his shock, he realized that he was too weak physically to do anything for himself, forget about the nation. He immediately resolved to start doing exercises and grow in strength physically. And, the rest is history to all of us. He endured jail in India and Burma but never compromised on his goal to see India as free country, and went on to be a prominent freedom fighter.

There is a lesson for all of us: students, teachers, parents and everyone else to learn from the life of Tilak. Health and fitness are important for everyone; more so for the students who are aspiring to achieve something in life. Parents are the first role models for a child to think about health and wellbeing. If parents follow a healthy routine like taking healthy food and doing some physical activity children are likely to imbibe it, and make it part of their life. Even if the parents can’t afford to follow an active lifestyle, they can enthuse children by talking to them about the importance of health and encouraging them to include some sort of physical activity in their daily life.

For the kind of hectic academic calendar and rigorous routine students have, it’s better if they have some daily dose of stress buster. What could be better than some sort of physical activity for a stress reliever? Encourage your child to walk, jog, run or swim, or play a sport of their choice for an hour a day. If they are keen, join them in a sporting academy for their preferred sport.

Parents have a significant role to play in the healthy and active lifestyle of children, and they must do their bit for the overall wellbeing of a child.

Now Greenwood brings out Administrators (Bureaucrats)

#Greenwood Group of Schools

Greenwood School has been a regular news maker for its astounding results in IIT and NEET exams every since its inception. It remained a dream for Greenwood to see a Greenwoodian as a Bureaucrat in the Indian Administration for some time.
That cherished dream has come true when our 2008 Batch Greenwoodian, Mr. Sai Kiran Pathipaka, S/o Komurelli, has successfully passed through the (UPSE CIVILS-2022) IPS-2022 qualifying examination.

It gives me an immense pleasure to convey a message to students of my alma mater.

My formative years at Greenwood laid foundation for my career.

There are few qualities that are non-negotiable at this age. These are to have an intense desire to succeed, clear vision, confidence, perseverance and discipline.
I’m extremely grateful for the Greenwood management for developing these qualities in me.

I would like to share some tips from my experience which I think would be helpful to you.

  • First, refer standard sources.
  • Second, revise them multiple times.
  • Third, practice and rectify the mistakes.

Do not refer too many sources on one subject.

Once again, I would take the opportunity to thank the entire team of Greenwood for making me what I am today.

Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, the Director of Greenwood Group of Institutions, has congratulated Mr. Sai Kiran Pathipaka and hoped that many Greenwoodians would follow the tradition set by Mr. Sai Kiran Pathipaka in the near future.

Tokens of Appreciation for Selfless Service

An eventful journey in the life of many a student of Class 10 comes to an end, marking the beginning of another elsewhere in a college. It is time for the Greenwood family to bid farewell to those students with hearts laden with nostalgic memories and many shared anecdotes.

Service and helping and doing the needful when time demands is one virtue we would like to see in children.

The brilliance they exhibited while making the arrangements for the Winter Sports Carnival was highly commendable. The initiative taken and creativity shown while arranging many a school function like National Festivals and such other festivals was highly laudable.
