The NCC troops of the school had their A certificate exam conducted on 20th and 21st of January 2024. The A certificate exam is the first level of the NCC certificate exams others being the B and C certificate ones.
The A certificate exam is for the school level students who have taken two years of NCC training, as a part of which they do attend a camp for 10 days to know about the Regimental way of life.
The A certificate has great priority for selections in academic pursuits of Medical and Engineering streams as it provides a 5 percent reservation for the cadets.
This year the school had 86 cadets appeared for the exam. The number of girls being 27 and that of Boys being 59.
On the first day, the cadets faced drill test, Map reading test, Field craft, battle craft and weapon training practicals.
On the second day they faced the written test covering a wide range of topics both in military as well as common subjects.
The cadets were motivated to be disciplined and take up the exam quite seriously. The ANO First Officer Sri.S. Radha Krishnan felt that most of them need to choose an army life and be good army officers of the future.
The Officer Cadet Sri.M. Ramakrishna felt the cadets need to take the opportunity well and prove their mettle in the future life.
The cadets were appreciated by the Commanding officer Col. Ajayanand Khandhuri of the 10(T)Bn.NCC.Warangal.

On January 29, 2024, more than 500 students of Class 10th and 9th of Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, Warangal attended a live broadcast of the Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2024 programme from their respective classrooms. Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event organised by the Ministry of Education in India, where Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi interacts with students, parents, and teachers from across the country and addresses their issues and concerns related to exams. The programme aims to provide guidance and motivation to students who are preparing for exams and to focus on various aspects of exam preparation and overall well-being for students.
Program Highlights & Key Points:
PPC 2024 was the 7th edition of the annual programme that was initiated by Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi in 2018 to connect with students and to share his insights and experiences on exam preparation and stress management. PPC 2024 was held at Bharat Mandapam, ITPO, New Delhi, and was attended by around 4000 students, parents, and teachers from various states and union territories of India. Over 2.6 crore students registered for the event. Two students and a teacher from each state and Union Territory, along with winners of the Kala Utsav, were invited. The program was also live-streamed on YouTube and other social media platforms, reaching millions of viewers across the country and abroad.
PPC 2024 was divided into four segments: ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Pareeksha Ki Baat’, and ‘Aapke Sawal, Modi Ji Ke Jawab’. In each segment, Prime Minister interacted with the participants and answered their questions on various topics related to exams, such as technology, goal setting, health, sleep, writing, relaxation, friendship, comparison, and competition.
PPC 2024 was a lively and engaging programme that showcased PM Sri Narendra Modi’s rapport with the students and his ability to inspire and motivate them. He used anecdotes, examples, humour, and metaphors to convey his messages and to make the programme interesting and relatable for the audience.

Supportive Atmosphere: Parents were urged not to excessively focus on their child’s scores and marks, creating unnecessary stress. Instead, fostering an atmosphere that encourages overall development and well-being was suggested.

India won it’s freedom on the 15th of August, 1947 and became a Republic on the 25th of January, 1950. The new constitution of free India came into force with effect from this day.
It is a day of national rejoicing and a red-letter day in our country. The day is celebrated with pomp and show, zeal and spirit, throughout the length and breadth of the country.
The day was celebrated in Greenwood High School Hunter Road with great éclat. The school building was tastefully decorated with flower-pots, buntings, pictures of heroes of the freedom movement and national flags.
We were graced with the presence of our beloved Director Sir’s . Head boy, Head girl and the N.C.C cadets welcomed the dignitaries with parade.
All the dignitaries offered coconuts to the national leaders of our country followed by hoisting of flag by director sir. Each and every member present in school premises saluted the national flag and sang the national anthem.
The program had begun.
Opening performances by Primary and High School had ignited our heart and kept us hooked on to the event since the beginning.
The zeal had started as there were some very inspiring national songs sung in chorus by students of high school.. These were followed by stirring speeches by the students of high school. To show the spirit of Republic India students of Preprimary show cased costumes as freedom fighters, soldiers and other important people of the country.
To show the love and patriotism towards the country, students of primary and school performed dance on various songs like Desh Rangila, Bharat ki beti, India Wale, Jai ho etc.
Students of our school had also taken this opportunity to show their support towards this Red Letter Day by playing the national anthem on the keyboard followed by an exquisite guitar performance of the patriotic themes.
Greenwood High School Hunter Road had conducted literary events like Essay Writing, Singing, Elocution, Drawing, Story Telling competitions in school, prior to the event.

In the Indian context, Mehendi, also known as henna, is a paste associated with positive vibes and good luck. It’s a common knowledge that Henna is a color made from the henna plant. It’s used for temporary body art, like designs on the skin. When you put henna on your skin, it shows its best color after a while and stays for a few days. Then, it slowly fades away as your skin naturally sheds, usually within one to three weeks.
Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, has organized the lively Mehendi competition, on January 6, 2024, exclusively for 7th to 10th-grade girl students, getting ready for the upcoming Sankranti Festival. The whole idea of competition was our students to explore and nurture traditional values, let their artistic inspiration flow, and give them a chance to showcase their artistic skills through a variety of Mehendi patterns.
Mehendi, reflecting the rich Indian culture, combines knowledge of medicinal herbs with many sentiments and beliefs. It’s believed that the deeper color of the Mehendi on the hands symbolizes profound love. In certain communities, the darkness of the Mehendi signifies the strength of the relationship.
The goal of this competition was not just to assess the drawing skills of the students but also to appreciate their creativity and their unique ways of expression, contributing to the overall personality development of the students. The Mehendi competition began with students enthusiastically joining in, each showing off these intricate and beautiful designs on their partner friend’s hands. The school grounds were all dressed up with colorful decorations and elaborate arrangements, truly embodying that festive vibe of Sankranti.
Forty-seven students enthusiastically took part in the competition and crafted beautiful designs based on different themes. Some designs were conventional, while others were unique and trendy.
During the competition, our Respected Director Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, Greenwood General Manager – Sri. A. Prabhu Kumar sir, Academic Principal – Sri. Sankranti, also known as Makar Sankranti, is a Hindu festival that marks the transition of the Sun into the zodiac sign of Makara (Capricorn). It usually takes place around January 14th every year. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and varies in name and traditions across different regions of India. Here are some key aspects of the significance, symbolism, and traditions associated with Sankranti:
Solar Transition and Harvest Festival:
Sankranti is primarily a solar event that marks the end of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer days. It is also considered a harvest festival in many parts of India, as it signifies the time when crops like sugarcane, sesame, and pulses are harvested.
Symbolism of Sun and Light:
The movement of the Sun into the northern hemisphere is associated with the triumph of light over darkness, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and the dispelling of ignorance.The festival represents the gradual increase in daylight and the promise of warmer days ahead.

People take ritual baths in rivers, especially in the Holy Rivers, and offer prayers to the Sun god during this time.

On 07th January 2024, Greenwood conducted an Inter-House Rangoli Making Competition account of Sankranti Festival 2024. It turned out to be a fantastic experience for our rock star girl students in classes VII to X.
They jumped in with full-on enthusiasm, the kind you usually see during festivals. The whole scene was about boosting creativity, teamwork, and soaking in our culture vibes. We set the stage for everyone to let loose and express themselves using the original and traditional form of art – Rangoli. It was all about bringing out that desi flair and letting the good times roll!
Importance of Rangoli making
Rangoli making is all about unleashing your artistic side with some stunning colors. It’s like this amazing art form straight out of the Indian scene. It’s a way to let your imagination run wild and free. We create patterns using powdered lime, red ocher, rice flour, colored sand, quartz powder, flower petals, snazzy colored rocks, colored glitters, and more. It’s like an everyday thing in loads of Indian homes, but busting out the Rangoli skills usually goes down during festivals and big celebrations because it takes some serious time.
So, Rangoli isn’t just an art; it’s a tradition, a vibe, and a Desi way to add some color to our festivals. We express gratitude to our ancestors for preserving and passing down this remarkable art form!
Rangoli Competition Details
144 young girls (24 Teams, Each team of 6 students) went all out, putting in loads of effort and throwing out some mind-blowing ideas. They were so into it! Each student showed off their skills by posting pictures of the awesome Rangoli they made. This competition lit a fire under them, pushing them to shine and show off their creative chops.
The competition saw a brilliant showcase of vibrant and detailed Rangoli designs, each reflecting the distinctive creativity and imagination of the participating students. Themes varied from traditional to contemporary, blending cultural heritage with modern aesthetics.
Moreover, the success of the competition wouldn’t have been possible without the active involvement and guidance of our respected DirectorSri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, Greenwood General Manager – SriA. Prabhu Kumar sir, Academic Principal – SriV.V.V Naveen Kumar sir, Administrative Principal – SriT. Pavan Kumar sir, and Vice Principal Sri. V. They played instrumental roles in guiding the teachers, coordinating with the staff, and supporting the students throughout the preparation and execution phases, ensuring the competition a resounding success.
A seasoned panel of judges assessed the Rangoli artworks, considering factors like the design selection, color coordination, how neat and clear it was, the creativity and of course the overall presentation.
The students not only showcased their artistic prowess but also gained insights into the deep cultural importance of Rangoli in Indian traditions. It was about ensuring their designs were top-notch and presentable.In the end, it wasn’t just a Rangoli competition; it was a celebration of colors, creativity, and the awesome talent our students have.
