United Nations Day Celebration
From Greenwood High School – Mancherial
Students G. Saharya (Class VIII) and K. Vanushna (Class VIII) from Mancherial spoke about the importance of United Nations Day, which is celebrated every year on October 24th.
They explained that the United Nations (UN) was founded in 1945 after World War II to promote peace, security, and cooperation among countries. The day reminds us of the UN’s continuous efforts to maintain harmony in the world and to solve global problems such as poverty, climate change, health, and education.
The students also highlighted the main goals of the United Nations — to ensure human rights, equality, and friendship among all nations. They encouraged everyone to follow the values of peace, respect, and teamwork, which the UN stands for.
They concluded their speech by saying that United Nations Day is not just a celebration but a reminder that we are all part of one global family, and together we can make the world a better place to live.
