The NCC troops of the school had their A certificate exam conducted on 20th and 21st of January 2024. The A certificate exam is the first level of the NCC certificate exams others being the B and C certificate ones.
The A certificate exam is for the school level students who have taken two years of NCC training, as a part of which they do attend a camp for 10 days to know about the Regimental way of life.
The A certificate has great priority for selections in academic pursuits of Medical and Engineering streams as it provides a 5 percent reservation for the cadets.
This year the school had 86 cadets appeared for the exam. The number of girls being 27 and that of Boys being 59.
On the first day, the cadets faced drill test, Map reading test, Field craft, battle craft and weapon training practicals.
On the second day they faced the written test covering a wide range of topics both in military as well as common subjects.
The cadets were motivated to be disciplined and take up the exam quite seriously. The ANO First Officer Sri.S. Radha Krishnan felt that most of them need to choose an army life and be good army officers of the future.

Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event organised by the Ministry of Education in India, where Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi interacts with students, parents, and teachers from across the country and addresses their issues and concerns related to exams. The programme aims to provide guidance and motivation to students who are preparing for exams and to focus on various aspects of exam preparation and overall well-being for students.
Program Highlights & Key Points:
PPC 2024 was the 7th edition of the annual programme that was initiated by Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi in 2018 to connect with students and to share his insights and experiences on exam preparation and stress management. PPC 2024 was held at Bharat Mandapam, ITPO, New Delhi, and was attended by around 4000 students, parents, and teachers from various states and union territories of India. Over 2.6 crore students registered for the event. Two students and a teacher from each state and Union Territory, along with winners of the Kala Utsav, were invited. The program was also live-streamed on YouTube and other social media platforms, reaching millions of viewers across the country and abroad.
PPC 2024 was divided into four segments: ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Pareeksha Ki Baat’, and ‘Aapke Sawal, Modi Ji Ke Jawab’. It’s used for temporary body art, like designs on the skin. When you put henna on your skin, it shows its best color after a while and stays for a few days. Then, it slowly fades away as your skin naturally sheds, usually within one to three weeks.
Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, has organized the lively Mehendi competition, on January 6, 2024, exclusively for 7th to 10th-grade girl students, getting ready for the upcoming Sankranti Festival. The whole idea of competition was our students to explore and nurture traditional values, let their artistic inspiration flow, and give them a chance to showcase their artistic skills through a variety of Mehendi patterns.
Mehendi, reflecting the rich Indian culture, combines knowledge of medicinal herbs with many sentiments and beliefs. It’s believed that the deeper color of the Mehendi on the hands symbolizes profound love. In certain communities, the darkness of the Mehendi signifies the strength of the relationship.
The goal of this competition was not just to assess the drawing skills of the students but also to appreciate their creativity and their unique ways of expression, contributing to the overall personality development of the students. The Mehendi competition began with students enthusiastically joining in, each showing off these intricate and beautiful designs on their partner friend’s hands. On 07th January 2024, Greenwood conducted an Inter-House Rangoli Making Competition account of Sankranti Festival 2024. It turned out to be a fantastic experience for our rock star girl students in classes VII to X.
They jumped in with full-on enthusiasm, the kind you usually see during festivals. The whole scene was about boosting creativity, teamwork, and soaking in our culture vibes. We set the stage for everyone to let loose and express themselves using the original and traditional form of art – Rangoli. It was all about bringing out that desi flair and letting the good times roll!
Importance of Rangoli making
Rangoli making is all about unleashing your artistic side with some stunning colors. It’s like this amazing art form straight out of the Indian scene. It’s a way to let your imagination run wild and free. We create patterns using powdered lime, red ocher, rice flour, colored sand, quartz powder, flower petals, snazzy colored rocks, colored glitters, and more. It’s like an everyday thing in loads of Indian homes, but busting out the Rangoli skills usually goes down during festivals and big celebrations because it takes some serious time.
So, Rangoli isn’t just an art; it’s a tradition, a vibe, and a Desi way to add some color to our festivals. We express gratitude to our ancestors for preserving and passing down this remarkable art form!

144 young girls (24 Teams, Each team of 6 students) went all out, putting in loads of effort and throwing out some mind-blowing ideas. They were so into it! Each student showed off their skills by posting pictures of the awesome Rangoli they made. This competition lit a fire under them, pushing them to shine and show off their creative chops.
The competition saw a brilliant showcase of vibrant and detailed Rangoli designs, each reflecting the distinctive creativity and imagination of the participating students. Themes varied from traditional to contemporary, blending cultural heritage with modern aesthetics.
Moreover, the success of the competition wouldn’t have been possible without the active involvement and guidance of our respected DirectorSri. Dr. G. Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, the esteemed Director of Greenwood Group of Schools, adorned the event as the chief guest, adding to the grandeur of the evening.
The stage was really awesome with fancy decorations and shiny lights that made it look magical. The music was fantastic because of a really good DJ and a great sound system that made everyone feel like dancing. And you know what? They also put the whole thing on YouTube so that people who couldn’t attend the event could watch and have fun too!
The event started with a lot of important people arriving. Our Academic Principal Sri. V.V.V. Naveen Kumar sir, Administrative Principal Sri. T. Pavan Kumar sir, Vice Principal V. Suresh Kumar sir, Greenwood General Manager Sri.A. Prabhu Kumar sir, Chief Financial Officer Sri. Rabbani Shaik sir and our special guest, the honorable Director of our school, Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, all came on time to the place. At 6 PM, everyone else started coming too, dressed up nicely and looking excited for what was going to happen.

Musical Performance by Vamshi and Team: Vamshi and his team kicked off the celebration with an amazing music performance. It really set a great mood for the rest of the evening!
Welcome Dance – Classical Dance by M. Ketheswar of Class Xand V. Laxmi Thanishka of Class X and her team: Ketheswar’s performance was so elegant and graceful. His traditional dance was amazing and got everyone really interested. He moved his feet in really fancy ways and showed a lot of emotion, making the event start on a really nice note.
Dance by Class IV and V Girls – Swathilomuthyam: The girls from Classes IV and V showcased a lively performance, synchronizing their movements to the beats of “Swathilomuthyam,” radiating energy and enthusiasm.
Dance by Class V Boys – Dance for comedy song: The boys from Class V entertained everyone with their comedic dance routine, eliciting laughter and amusement with their playful choreography.

New Year Cake Cutting: A really special part of the celebration was when we all cut the New Year cake together. It’s like a tradition that shows we’re all together and starting a new year as one big group.
Under the mentorship of English teacher G. Krishna Rao, 10th-grade students Ch. Aapthika, R. Alekhya, R. Tejaswini, K. Rishika, and J. Srinidhi, along with 9th-grade students Md Jaseena and S. Sona Shree, anchored this vibrant New Year’s Eve celebration
The celebration was really awesome! There was so much fun, laughter, and happiness. It made everyone feel happier and memorable. It was a wonderful way to start the new year, and everyone will remember it forever.
Special Luncheon on January 1, 2024: The fun kept going the next day with luncheon for everyone at school. It was a great time for all of us to hang out, have fun, and enjoy good moments together, students and teachers alike with delicious dishes.
Cricket Match – Teachers vs. Senior Students: After lunch, there was a thrilling cricket match between the teachers and the senior students. Everyone played with a lot of energy and teamwork, and in the end, the teachers won.
On Thursday, January 9th, 2024, Greenwood Gopalpur embraced vibrant hues as mothers showcased their artistic flair in the Rangoli Competition.
The event was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation and a burst of creativity, turning the occasion into a kaleidoscope of artistic expressions.
The mothers brought forth a delightful array of Rangoli designs, adding a touch of tradition and innovation to the celebration.
Makar refers to the Zodiac sign of Capricorn, while Sankranti means transition. The festival ‘Makar Sankranti’ celebrates the Sun’s shift into the zodiac sign of Capricorn. It is celebrated in reverence to the deity Surya (Sun). It is observed each year in January. It marks the first day of the Sun’s transit into the Makara Rasi (Capricorn) and marks the end of the winter solstice.
Being a festival that celebrates the solar cycle, it usually falls on the same Gregorian date every year. This festival officially announces the beginning of the spring season. The festival highlights the importance of pulling back unethical and unhealthy behaviors while practicing peaceful and positive ones instead.
The harvest festival of ‘Sankranti’ is celebrated in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for three days as ‘Bhogi’, ‘Sankranti’ and ‘Kanuma’. Sankranti is the main festival, followed by ‘Kanuma’ when cattle are worshipped.
Abhyaas the global school too celebrated ‘Sankranthi’ over a period of three days i.e on the 5th, 6th and 8th of January 2024.
Mehendi competition was held on the first day i.e on 5th January 2024 for girls across grades 4 to IX. The competitors tried to outshine each other by drawing intricate designs on the palms of their classmates and teachers.

In the junior category, Preethi of Grade V, Bhagya and Navya of Grade IV bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively whereas in the senior category, Poojitha of Grade IX bagged the first prize and Akshaya Deepika of Grade VIII bagged the second prize. Nehamrutha Sri and Druthi of Grade IX shared the third prize.
The second day of the festivities was happily spent with boys across Grades I to IX flying kites that seemed to touch the sky and girls across Grades V to IX drawing beautiful rangoli patterns.
In the high school category, D. Pragna and T Poojitha of Grade IX bagged the first place in rangoli competition. K. Varshini of 7 IIT and Lakshmi Chaitanya of Grade 7 bagged the second place while Srihitha, Renuka and Annanya of VI IIT bagged the third place.
In the primary category, Amulya and Bhavya of Grade IV got the first prize in rangoli competition while Dusana and Kavya Sri of Grade IV got the second prize. Kashifa, Meghana and Rushita of Grade V got the third prize.
In the primary school category, Lokesh of Grade V bagged the first prize in the kite flying competition. Tanuj of Grade III bagged the second prize while Viraj of Grade I got the third prize.
In the High school category, Nageshwarrao of Grade VII bagged the first prize and Rushikesh of Grade IX won the second prize whereas Srujan of Grade VIII got the third prize.
The third day i.e the 8th of January, the festival was celebrated with great pomp and splendor where students came gaily dressed in multicolored, vibrant, traditional Indian traditional dresses.
A model village hut with motifs and sweetmeats related to Sankranti, colourful rangoli and flowers caught the attention of all present.
Bommala Koluvu (display of dolls) was arranged with images of Gods, toys, and dolls that were brought by the students and teachers.
The celebrations were started by the Principal who lit the bonfire as a symbol of discarding outdated things and ideas welcoming new things and new ideas to prosper.
Next, kids of Nursery, LKG, UKG, Classes 1 and 2 were blessed by their Principal, teachers and parents with auspicious akshintalu, coins, ber fruits and flowers.
Students danced around Gobbemmalu that were placed on colourful rangoli with the accompaniment of songs related to gobbillu.
A Haridasu sang many devotional songs and accepted dakshina from parents, teachers and students alike. A group of six Gangireddys skillfully handled two Gangiredulu (gaily decorated bulls) much to to joy and excitement of the children.
Later, to enhance the festivities in the children, a few students dressed up as Haridasu, Buddabukkalavadu, Sodi Amma, farmer, Pittala Dora, Komma Dasari, Goda Devi and village lady, and entertained all with their dialogues. This was followed by dances by cultural programmes
To kick off the festivities, enchanting Grade V girls presented a classical dance performance titled ‘Maha Ganapati Manasa Smarami.’
The tiny tots from Nursery to Grade II enthralled the audience with their charm as they danced with glee.
The youngsters across Grade III to Grade V captured the hearts of all present with their foot-tapping dance performance.
The boys and girls of High School stomped the stage with their fast-paced intricate dance steps.
The boys and girls of Grade VI performed a dance based skit depicting the problems faced by the farmers and urged the audience not to waste food as it is very precious.
The girls of Grade VII, VIII and IX stole the show with their Ammoru dance. The image and glory of Goddess Durga continued to resonate in our hearts for a long long time.

Greenwood High school, Hunter Road has organised Maths quiz for classes 6th 7th and 8th on 22 December to commemorate the National Mathematics Day and also the birth anniversary of the mathematics legend Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The event began at 10 AM as the students gathered in the assembly premises. The students of class 8 Kalam P.Sahasra Sai and 7 Bose Shivani welcomed everyone and initiated the program.
Honourable Principal Manjula Devi madam vice principal Mahender sir and ACO Harshavardhan sir paid their respect to the portrait of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The quiz was organised and conducted by the Maths Department and Mr Sampath and Mr. Ramaneedhar presided over as the judges.
The quiz began with the introduction of participants. 16 students in all were qualified from classes 6-8 in the preliminary test, which was conducted on 13 December 2023.

The intense Quiz began.
All the teams spared no effort in Solving the problems and kept the Audience at the edge of their seats throughout. The Audience were given an opportunity to answer 2 questions at the end of each round and were awarded with chocolate for correct answer.
There were two cultural performances by the students to bring some fun and musical relaxation to the participants and the Audience.
Ranjana (7Newton) Deekshita (8 Einstein) , Ifra (8 Newton) and saanvi (8 Newton) sang melodious songs and mesmerised everyone.
After the thrilling Rapid fire round Team Questors emerged as the winners and Team Calcolics were the runner ups.
The event concluded with the speech of honorable Principal Mam who appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students while encouraging and motivating them to come forward and embrace their strength.
Prizes and certificates were given to the winners and runner ups by Principal mam and everyone applauded and appreciated the participants.
She applauded the efforts put in by everyone for this exciting event. The quiz enriched the knowledge and the curiosity of the students and boosted their confidence. Everyone enjoyed being a part of this intriguing event.
