Today this renovated Computer Lab, our CYBER HUB, has been formerly declared open by our beloved Director, Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu and dedicated to the students.

Go Green With Paper Bags, Say No to Plastic Bags” is the need of the hour.
Paper bag is renewable, recyclable, reusable, and compostable. To make the students aware of the use of paper bags as much as possible and make our mother Earth plastic-free, the school has organized Paper Bag Making on 15th July, Saturday 2023 in school premises.
Children brought the required decorative materials like stones, ribbons, artificial flowers, shells etc. and made beautiful paper bags. 🛍️
The artistic work created by the kids was a real visual treat to the viewers. The paper bags are generally box shaped in design that allows them to stand upright and hold more goods.
The students diligently followed the step by step instructions given by their art teacher, Lastly, these beautiful bags were handed over to the parents.

On the 1st of August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conferred Lokmanya Tilak National Award in Pune. The Award is named after Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the first nationalist leader who strongly advocated self-rule with the slogan “Swaraj is my birthright I shall have it.” Unlike the most other first-generation national leaders who happened to be foreign educated, Tilak had completed his education in India. He has a distinct name in the India’s freedom struggle for his ingenuity.
Tilak, in his autobiography writes that when he was a teenager, as he had started to understand the colonial rule and India’s lack of freedom, he reflected how he can contribute to the country. To his shock, he realized that he was too weak physically to do anything for himself, forget about the nation. He immediately resolved to start doing exercises and grow in strength physically. And, the rest is history to all of us. He endured jail in India and Burma but never compromised on his goal to see India as free country, and went on to be a prominent freedom fighter.
There is a lesson for all of us: students, teachers, parents and everyone else to learn from the life of Tilak. Health and fitness are important for everyone; more so for the students who are aspiring to achieve something in life. Parents are the first role models for a child to think about health and wellbeing. If parents follow a healthy routine like taking healthy food and doing some physical activity children are likely to imbibe it, and make it part of their life. Even if the parents can’t afford to follow an active lifestyle, they can enthuse children by talking to them about the importance of health and encouraging them to include some sort of physical activity in their daily life.
For the kind of hectic academic calendar and rigorous routine students have, it’s better if they have some daily dose of stress buster. What could be better than some sort of physical activity for a stress reliever? Encourage your child to walk, jog, run or swim, or play a sport of their choice for an hour a day. If they are keen, join them in a sporting academy for their preferred sport.
Parents have a significant role to play in the healthy and active lifestyle of children, and they must do their bit for the overall wellbeing of a child.

It has been a practice, well within the recommendations of the CBSE, to conduct the election for the positions of the Head Boy and Head Girl the top student hierarchy among the students of Greenwood.
The very objective of these election is to give an opportunity to the students to gain the first-hand experience of the fundamental system of democracy.
Like all the previous years, this academic year; 2023-2024, has also witnessed this noble experience of the students.
The role and importance of elections in the democracy was reiterated by our Director
Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu in the amphitheater of our campus in the evening of 02 July 2023.
The schedule of the election for the head Boy and head Girl was announced by our beloved Director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu during the prayer meeting on 03 July 2023. The Schedule for the procedure of this election was announced on the same day. The team of officials responsible conducting this election freely and fairly was also announced.
As many as 24 boy students from the class 10 have submitted their nominations for the position of the Head Boy and as many as 13 girl students from the class 10 have submitted their nominations for the position of the Head Girl.
All these nominations were scrutinized and counter checked by a panel of teachers. After this scrutiny and counter check the nominations of 6 boys and 6 girls have been accepted. Eventually only two boys and two girls have stood for the election as the other candidates have withdrawn their nominations.
Soon, the final list of candidates for election was announced and these candidates were introduced to all the students by the Principal on 05 July 2023 during the Prayer Meeting. The election symbols were also allotted. These candidates then interacted with the students from the same platform and staked their claim effectively.
And, yes! The canvasing started with colourful posters and pocket symbol labels. All the candidates met the voters in the dormitories and in the corridors in the free time. All the candidates with their supporters were allowed to visit the classrooms for requesting for the votes.
The election campaign ended in the evening hours of 10 July 2023. All the election fervor then reached a state of silence of expectations.
The Big Day; 11 July 2023, the day of election has brought the excitement and hopes back into the faces of all the students. As many as 5 polling booths were arranged with a team of as many as five polling officials of different cadre and two polling booth agents one each from the supporters of the candidates. Boys and girls have separate polling booths.
The polling began at 09.30 in the morning. All the polling booths were secured by the NCC cadets of our School under the eagle eyes of a team of three observers chosen from the administration and teachers.
The polling was very well organized and went on very peacefully till 03.00 p.m.
All dignitaries from the management and administration, teachers and the support staff exercised their voting right.

Many of us do not, for the good reason of not encroaching into child’s space or not to meddle with their privacy. But, it might leave your child in distress for the reasons of online harassment, abuse, and bullying. Have you ever thought about it?
Easy availability of mobile devices and increased internet connectivity has definitely democratized access to information, particularly to students, but the same also made children more vulnerable. The anonymity the internet and social media offers make everyone take anyone’s identity online and get in touch and engage in conversation with everyone.
Young children, prone to easy influence, are at the risk of getting in contact with wrong people who predate the vulnerable. Also, with easy spread of memes and caricatures online, the classroom issues are often finding a venting on social media platforms. Cyber bullying is on the rise all over the world for the same reasons.
Some students, when snubbed or rejected, are resorting to spreading false information about people in class and school online groups, which are widely in use over various social media platforms causing mental agony and trauma.
Even WhatsApp is a potential source for misguiding the children as many fake things and propaganda can be easily circulated over it. Making the child to learn to verify before believing anything circulated on WhatsApp to be true is the way to save children from undue influence.
Since various dangers are lurking over the social media, it is better to keep a tab on children’s online activities but without encroaching into their space. Also, speaking to children about the possible dangers over the social media and internet and making them aware of the need to be vigilant is advisable.
The best thing would be creating a healthy atmosphere at home where these issues are openly discussed and remedial measures proactively sought.
The first of June 2023 seemed to be as if it was springtime. There was a burst of green colour everywhere at Abhyaas the global school as the tiny Gems and Jellies as well as the super tiny Cherries and Berries celebrated Green Day in their own style.
The tiny nightingales wearing green clothes sang a lovely rhyme ‘Do you like the colour green?’, showing off their vocal skills to their beloved Principal Mr. Valavala Satyanarayana.
The little ones cleverly identified all the green coloured toys, vegetables and fruits that were spread out across their classroom. The teachers took this occasion as an opportunity and left no stone unturned to spread awareness amongst the little ones to protect our nature as it is the basis of our life.
Finally, the much awaited Monsoon has hit our region and brought a respite from the scorching sun. Around the same time, new academic year has begun too. It’s time for parents and students to get back to that demanding routine, after a month long summer vacation.
Beginning of the academic year presents new challenges, I understand, but also new opportunities, I say.
For the students, it’s an opportunity to start a fresh, leaving behind the last year and last year experiences and set new goals, academic or personal, for the forth coming year. Of course, review, an honest and sincere one, of the last year performance and achievements to take confidence and get going on is always advisable.
When one prepare a plan for the next academic year, keeping the lessons learnt last year in mind and planning not to repeat the mistakes are better be ensured. Remember, each academic year takes you closer to realizing your career and life goals. Wise are those who would see the larger picture and build themselves for the future.
It’s easy to build a wall brick by brick over a period of time than to build it over night. Likewise, those who build them every year, grow competent enough to deal with any situation and emerge as winners from adverse situations too. So, realize that new academic year is new opportunity to grow and build for that desired future.
For parents, this time of the year is a troublesome period as students who are used to holidays don’t readily change their routine and cooperate. Motivating them to go to school, do homework and complete their assignments on time would be challenging, I reckon. But, it is also of paramount important to follow up with students until they get used to. It’s best if parents can reach out to the school and teachers to discuss the academic plans of the year and encourage the child follow accordingly.
For higher classes, particularly for Class X students, guiding the students to prepare a plan of approach and daily schedule and keeping them motivated to follow the same diligently works wonderful.

With great enthusiasm and zeal Greenwood High School, Hunter Road officially started the new academic session for the year 2023-24 on 14th June 2023. Students came along with excitement and longing to meet their friends and teachers and start a fresh and eventful year ahead.
The Greenwood tradition of hoisting the national flag every Thursday was carried out by our beloved principal Manjula Maam, followed by the national song sung by all the students in honour of the flag.

Summer vacation for students was not only fun but also very challenging. Our school encouraged the students to write a short book of their choice of genre, and also influenced other to do the same. Students took this opportunity and gave tremendous response to this news by sharing their “thoughts and ideas” for the guidance of school.

Sai Shyam Mayank of class 7th has written the book “The Time Machine” a story inspired by science fiction.
Sumayya of class 8th has written the book “The Marine’s Secret” an imaginative story which revolves around water.
Whereas her sister Samara the youngest writer of Greenwood High School, Hunter Road, of class 4th has written the book “Sam The Butterfly Girl” an imaginary story about a girl who discovers rare species of butterflies.
Manjula maam gave some words of encouragement and with this the assembly came to an end and students returned back to their class.
Greenwood School has been a regular news maker for its astounding results in IIT and NEET exams every since its inception. It remained a dream for Greenwood to see a Greenwoodian as a Bureaucrat in the Indian Administration for some time. That cherished dream has come true when our 2008 Batch Greenwoodian, Mr. Sai Kiran Pathipaka, S/o Komurelli, has successfully passed through the (UPSE CIVILS-2022) IPS-2022 qualifying examination.
It gives me an immense pleasure to convey a message to students of my alma mater.
My formative years at Greenwood laid foundation for my career.
There are few qualities that are non-negotiable at this age. These are to have an intense desire to succeed, clear vision, confidence, perseverance and discipline. I’m extremely grateful for the Greenwood management for developing these qualities in me.
I would like to share some tips from my experience which I think would be helpful to you.
First, refer standard sources.
Second, revise them multiple times.
Third, practice and rectify the mistakes.
Do not refer too many sources on one subject.
Once again, I would take the opportunity to thank the entire team of Greenwood for making me what I am today.

AIDEU-2023, farewell party for the outgoing students of class X (2022-23) was held in the school premises in a grand way on March 11, 2023.Class IX students had come together and expressed their desire to organize a farewell function.
Delighted management extended all possible help for the students to organize the party to make it a big success.
The program began with lightening the lamp and garlanding goddess Saraswathi’s portrait by the dignitaries that included Mrs. Jyothi Reddy,wife of Director Mr. Challa Dharama Reddy,CAO-Mr. A. Prabhu Kumar garu, Principal-Ms. Manjula garu, Jahnavi Reddy garu,Vice-Principal -L. Mahender garu, and ACO-K. Srikanth garu.
The program presided over by Rathika of Class IX (Newton) and Ch. Sahasra of IX-Bose. Dressed in traditional, they welcomed the guests, teachers, students for the occasion, and initiated the proceedings.
Lightening of the lamp was followed by welcome dance performance, a classical dance, by Sanjana of Class IX (Kalam) and Ashwini of Class IX (Newton).
It was followed by speeches of students. K. Yashaswini, K. Nihari, S. Sai Shruthi, Y. Slesha, V. Siri Valli, S. Harshith of outgoing batch spoke about their school journey and recollected the wonderful moments of school life. They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the teachers and school for being on their side through thick and thin and guiding them in the right direction. Head boy, Teja, and Head Girl, Vaishanvi, also spoke during the program. They earnestly appreciated the leadership opportunity and how it helped them to grow as individuals besides learning essential qualities of leadership. Vaishnavi said that she would be eternally grateful for the opportunity.

Speaking at the function, Principal Manjula Madam called the moment a bitter-sweet one. Overwhelmed by emotions, she underlined the importance staying connected to the roots and parents irrespective of where career and life take one. She conveyed the message of both the directors.
CAO-A. Prabhu Kumar garu, addressing the students, said, “go out and face the world bravely; Greenwood High Schools instilled values in you to face any situation with confidence, the school would always stand by its students no matter what.”
Fun games were organized for seniors by class IX students. All the students enthusiastically participated in the activities. Some cultural activities including dance and singing performances were performed by class IX and Class X students.
The program ended with a sumptuous lunch for all the participants.
Holi is a festival of colours. Even the elderly turn into youngsters on this day as they forget their age and ailments while naughtily pursuing their targets to cover them up with as many colours as possible.
The gulaal used in earlier days was made from natural colours extracted from flowers, spices and trees etc and had medicinal properties beneficial to the skin.
Unfortunately, in modern days, the hazardous chemicals and substances used in Holi colours play havoc with our skin, eyes and respiratory system.
In the name of celebrating Holi, a huge amount of water is spent and even wasted. Playing wet Holi with water-guns or water-balloons can harm the ear. Water may enter the ear and cause itching, earache or blockage.
The next few days after Holi are spent trying to get rid of the unforgiving colours stuck mercilessly to the skin and clothes.
Inorder to avoid such problems, we at Abhyaas the global school celebrated Holi with a difference. Colours were used creatively. The tiny tots dipped their palms into vibrant colours of their choice and admired the way their own palms and those of their peers looked. Next, they pressed their palms and thumbs on a chart leaving imprints to create a beautiful and creative picture.
The kids played with colours but didn’t smear them on each other instead they used them creatively to create memories of a different kind.
The sports day is one event that students enjoy with much enthusiasm so, we at Greenwood, inaugurated it in our spacious playground.
The fest started with a vigorous March past by our NCC cadets to welcome our chief guests: Mr. Pochaiah-M.E.O (Mandamarri), Mr. T.Pavan Kumar garu -AGM Greenwood high school, Mr. T. Ravi well wisher of Greenwood accompanied by Principal Mr Ayub and Ms.Kanthi.
The Dignitaries adorned their chairs on the dias and later the inaugural ceremony started with the school flag hoisting followed by the Marchpast by the presidents and vice presidents of all the four houses accompanied by the Head boy and Head girl followed by dumbles, legumes and hoops which was spectacular.
All the honorable guests and dignitaries spoke few words about the importance of sports in maintaining their fitness and also delivered their wishes of success to the students.

Today 66 cadets(46 boys and 20 Girls) students attended NCC ‘A’ certificate Examination in our school. After completion of their Two years training period, they attended the exam. The exam involves test in drill, weapon training, map reading, field craft and battle craft along with an awareness on armed forces history. The cadets have to follow the detail procedure of drill and answer the oral and written exam.
This year the school had 20 girl cadets and 46 boys taken part in the exam. The day had the visit of the commanding officer Col A.N.Khandhuri of 10(T) Bn.NCC Warangal. He appreciated the efforts of the cadets in taking to NCC and developing the spirit of nationalism at an early age.
He appreciated the involvement of Cadets P. Vishnuvardhan of class X and Om Kondra of Class IX as a part of the Cultural team to the Inter Group Competitions at Guntur this year.
He appreciated the cadets for their classy performance and presentation in both the theory and practical examinations. He wanted the cadets to take up armed forces as a career. He also appreciated an admired ANO Sri. Radha Krishnan and Care taker Mr. A. Rama Krishna for their great endeavors in training the cadets so well and preparing them thoroughly for the exam. Greenwood High School,Warangal, Telangana, has been selected for Pariksha Pe Charcha-2023, an annual exam time interactive meet with PM Mr. Narendra Modi for the students of classes 9 and 10.
Greenwood High School is one of the very few schools selected for the program from the region. Selected students are asked to come up with questions to be posed to Modi. Students have come up with many interesting questions covering a wide range of issues on exam preparations, parental pressure and future career choices have. Winter Sports Carnival of Greenwood High School, a weeklong sports meet for all the classes and a much awaited sporting event in the school calendar, began with a great fanfare with Director Sir. Dr.Girrem Bharadwaja Naidu garu, declaring the Sports Carnival open at a specially held ceremony in the school playground on the 18 January, 2023.
Leading up to the sporting carnival, all the students of all the classes were given a chance to choose sports of their interest to take part in and the response was huge.
After all, it was the first major sporting event in the School post COVID-19. With an aim to provide a sporting opportunity to everyone, all the participants are drawn into teams, house-wise, for team sports and preliminary rounds are formalized for individual games. It’s been a painstaking process since almost all the students are eager to participate in one or the other game.
On 18th January, the day of re-opening of the School after the Sankranthi vacation, Sports Carnival opening ceremony took place. A makeshift stage was arranged in the ground and arrangements were put in place for the program. All the students gathered on the ground dressed in white for the program. First, the guest of honour for the ceremony, respected Director Sir, was called on to the stage, and he was followed by CAO Prabhu Kumar Sir, Principal Manjula Madam to the dais. Vice-Principal Mahender and ACOs K Harshavardhan and K. Srikanth adorned the stage as well.
A March-past of houses led by respective House Presidents and guided by the Head Boy and the Head Girl was conducted and while the march-past passed the stage they saluted the dignitaries on the dais. Guests gladly accepted the salute. The march-past with perfect synchronization resembled a military parade. Speaking about the same, the PETs-Mr. Rajkumar, Mr.Praveen and Mr.Ramesh said that, “we have been making students practice whenever we get time. Thankfully, all our efforts paid off.”
It was followed by the National Flag hoisting by our respected Director Sir and the School Flag hoisting by the Head Boy. Director Sir lit the torch and passed the torch to the Head Boy who passed it to the Head Girl. Likewise, it was passed on to other House Presidents and all the cabinet enthusiastically accompanied them in the march. Finally, the torch was brought to the stage and Director Sir lit the Sports Carnival flame with the torch and declared the sporting carnival open and he administered the oath of fair play with all the participants. Speaking on the occasion, Director Sir said, “Put aside winning and losing and stay focused on bringing the best out of you.” He also emphasized on how important it is to abide by the rules of the games and playing it fare. All the students enthusiastically cheered throughout the program.
After the ceremony, first match of boys’ voylleyball between teams A & E of Diamond House took place. Director Sir shook hands with the two teams accompanied by the respective Captains and wished the teams all the best. On the other side of the ground, girls’ Dodgeball match was held between Teams B & C of Diamond House. Director Sir was introduced to the players of the teams by respective Captains and with Director Sir tossing the coin, the match began. There started a sporting spectacle for the full week.

As Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India is observing the Road Safety Week from 11th to 17th January 2023, under “Swachhata Pakhawada”, to propagate the cause of safer roads for all. We at Greenwood High School, Manchirial branch did our part to educate laymen on ROAD SAFETY.
Our students excuted a a rally with slogans on road safety.
As it is quite common that people never pay attention for regular things, our students performed a MIME to illustrate how carelessness causes lives. And also a Flash mob to emphasize various measures that people should take to comply with the government’s safety regulations and keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
