Elaborate preparations have been made for this auspicious day by the students and their mentors under the supervisory guidance of Our Director Sir, Sri. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, both the Academic and Administrative Principals, V.V.V. Naveen Kumar and T. Pavan Kumar.

The celebrations began with the ceremonial welcome of the dignitaries of the school with a wonderful display of Guard of Honour by the NCC Cadets and the other students. The Directors of the school Sri Challa Dharma Reddy and Sri Dr. Girrem Bharadwaja Naidu, Sri. Alapati Prabhu Kumar, the General manager, Sri Yellappa Naidu, father of Sri G. Bharadwaja Naidu, Principal VVV Naveen Kumar and Vice Principal V. Suresh Kumar are among those who received the Guard of Honour.

All the dignitaries offered floral tributes to all the great leaders of our Freedom Struggle and broke the coconuts as an auspicious symbol in their honour.

Sri. Challa Dharma Reddy, the Director and present MLA of Parkal Constituency hoisted the National Flag. He spoke on the occasion reminding the young Greenwoodians of their responsibilities towards their parents and Nation, to develop friendly relationship among themselves, to be kind and polite and be the torch bearers of future generations.

Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu advised the children to be responsible towards their education. He reminded the students of the growing world of competition and advised one and all to prepare themselves to enter the glorious fields in their lives with confidence and ease. He also said about the role of a student in the development of nation.

Sri VVV Naveen Kumar reiterated the need for focusing on the learning and the time management.

However, the soulful words came out from Sri. Girrem Yellappa Naidu. Each and every word spoken by him found its way into the young hearts assembled. His was indeed a spirited speech.

A vibrant display of the national flag and decorations in the colors of our country started right from the gates. The entrance has been adorned with flowers, banners, and streamers, creating an atmosphere of national pride and enthusiasm.

Inside the classrooms, students have put their creativity to work. Each classroom has been transformed into a mini gallery of patriotism. The walls are embellished with handmade flags, historical quotes, and art pieces that reflect the essence of freedom and unity.

In the school ground where our official Independence Day ceremony has taken place, the stage has been adorned with a grand backdrop of the national flag, and the podium has been set for our esteemed speakers. The Entire school premises has exuded an air of anticipation and excitement, a testament to our dedication to honor this significant day.

All these are the result of creativity and artistic efficiency of our art and craft department teachers Ms. Banaja Sahoo and Mr. Santhosh Rao who encouraged all the art and craft student members to do their best in making whole campus very vibrant with their decorations and the work of art. The decorations and preparations for this year’s Independence Day have been a true labor of love. Every effort, every decoration, and every performance is a tribute to our nation’s journey towards freedom and progress. Each act has been prepared with dedication and enthusiasm, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and the fervor of our nation.

But our celebration is not limited to decorations alone. Our students have prepared an array of cultural displays showcasing the diversity of our country. From traditional dances to folk music performances, these displays remind us of the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our nation.

To kick off our celebration, our talented students presented a series of dance performances that depicted various aspects of our nation’s history and cultural diversity. Through graceful movements and vibrant costumes, they transported us back in time and across regions, showcasing the unity in diversity that defines our country.

The melodious strains of patriotic songs filled the air as our choir and solo singers took the stage. These songs, echoing the sentiments of love for our nation, served as a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices made by countless individuals to secure our freedom. Their voices undoubtedly evoked emotions of pride and unity.

Next, we have a spectacular display of discipline and precision – the Dumbbell Drill trained by Mr. Harish (PET). Our students, through synchronized movements and the manipulation of dumbbells, demonstrated the dedication and training that our armed forces undertake. This performance is a salute to their commitment and the protection they provide to our nation.

It has been masterfully showcased the spirit of ‘Lezim’ through the synchronized movements and energetic performance with the coaching of Mr. Sai Kumar (PET). The dedication of the students to preserving our cultural heritage and their seamless coordination on stage has been a true delight to behold, reminding us of the power of unity and tradition.

Some students showcased incredible display of strength, balance, and coordination by taking the stage to create stunning human pyramids and amazed all by their teamwork and dedication.

Kolatam, a traditional folk dance, took center stage. This performance symbolizes the harmony and togetherness that transcends regional differences. As the dancers moved in rhythm, they reflected the beauty of unity that is the hallmark of our nation’s progress. The Pyramid Formations and Kolatam have been well trained by Mr. Pradeep Reddy and Aravind (PETs).

Mono action by L. Geethika as Rani Rudrama is a heart touching act on the day which filled the hearts of students with emotion.

Mr. Raghu (PET) arranged Guard of Honour with our National Cadet Corps (NCC). Some other NCC students proudly took the stage with a parade that exuded discipline and respect. Through their synchronized movements and immaculate uniforms, they showcased the values of leadership, unity, and service to the nation. This parade was a reflection of the potential within our youth to shape a brighter tomorrow. The performances witnessed are a testament to the talent, dedication, and fervor of our students and the staff NCC ANO Mr. S. Radha Krishnan and Mr. M.Ramakrishna who are behind them to back them up in every nook and corner and every way.

Under the guidance and mentorship of Mr. G Krishna Rao, English Faculty, A. Abhilasha and R. Alekhya of class X had the privilege to anchor this memorable event. Both of them put together a well-structured and engaging script that captured the essence of our nation’s freedom and unity.

In retrospect, celebrating this Independence Day has been an honor and a fulfilling experience for all the students and the staff. All expressed their deepest gratitude to Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu for his guidance and support, without which this event would not have been possible.

On a final note, Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu and Sri. Challa Dharma Reddy, the directors of the Greenwood Group of Schools, appreciated all the students and staff who have carried out their duties successfully and made the Independence Day Celebration a grand success.

Green Day Celebrations @ Abhyaas The Global School

The first of June 2023 seemed to be as if it was springtime. There was a burst of green colour everywhere at Abhyaas the global school as the tiny Gems and Jellies as well as the  super tiny Cherries and Berries celebrated Green Day in their own style.

The tiny nightingales wearing green clothes sang a lovely rhyme ‘Do you like the colour green?’, showing off their vocal skills to their beloved Principal Mr. Valavala Satyanarayana.

The little ones cleverly identified all the green coloured toys, vegetables and fruits that were spread out across their classroom. The teachers took this occasion as an opportunity and left no stone unturned to spread awareness amongst the little ones to protect our nature as it is the basis of our life.

New Beginning for the New Academic Year 2023-24

Dear Students and Parents,

Finally, the much awaited Monsoon has hit our region and brought a respite from the scorching sun. Around the same time, new academic year has begun too. It’s time for parents and students to get back to that demanding routine, after a month long summer vacation.

Beginning of the academic year presents new challenges, I understand, but also new opportunities, I say.

For the students, it’s an opportunity to start a fresh, leaving behind the last year and last year experiences and set new goals, academic or personal, for the forth coming year. Of course, review, an honest and sincere one, of the last year performance and achievements to take confidence and get going on is always advisable.

When one prepare a plan for the next academic year, keeping the lessons learnt last year in mind and planning not to repeat the mistakes are better be ensured. Remember, each academic year takes you closer to realizing your career and life goals. Wise are those who would see the larger picture and build themselves for the future.

It’s easy to build a wall brick by brick over a period of time than to build it over night.  Likewise, those who build them every year, grow competent enough to deal with any situation and emerge as winners from adverse situations too. So, realize that new academic year is new opportunity to grow and build for that desired future.

For parents, this time of the year is a troublesome period as students who are used to holidays don’t readily change their routine and cooperate. Motivating them to go to school, do homework and complete their assignments on time would be challenging, I reckon. But, it is also of paramount important to follow up with students until they get used to. It’s best if parents can reach out to the school and teachers to discuss the academic plans of the year and encourage the child follow accordingly.

For higher classes, particularly for Class X students, guiding the students to prepare a plan of approach and daily schedule and keeping them motivated to follow the same diligently works wonderful.

I extend my warmest best wishes to everyone for the upcoming academic year.

Erragattugutta @ Greenwood Group of Schools

Makara Sankranti is one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus. Usually, this festival falls on January 15. This occasion marks the transition of the Sun from the zodiac of Sagittarius (Dhanssu) to Capricorn (Makara).

Since the Sun is regarded to have moved from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere on this day in the Hindu calendar, the festival is dedicated to the solar deity, Surya. It is observed to mark a new beginning. Many native multi-day festivals are organized on this occasion all over India.

Makar Sankranti is observed with social festivities such as colourful decorations, rural children going house to house wearing colourful dresses, very very special festive feasts, Bhogi Mantalu (bonfires), kite flying, Cock Fights, Edla Pandalu (Bull Races) etc. Another speciality of this festival are many homemade special traditional sweets. This festival really gives a bonanza to all the Gourmets.

The girls and the women folk do have a wonderful time during this festival designing Rangavallulu, singing songs around Gobbellu; Cow dung balls decorated with flowers.

Haridasu and Gangireddulu are another special feature of the festival. Each morning one can enjoy the Keertanas (songs), and Aseervachanamulu (Blessings) of Haridasulu, the tinkling bells of Gangireddulu, the and the melodious Gobbemma songs.

It has been a tradition and custom at Greenwood to celebrate all the festivals so as to see that the children staying away from their homes do not miss even the slightest part of their culture, tradition and heritage.

This year the children with the assistance of the Greenwood Art Department recreated this festival in a miniature way. They brought in a true festival look to our school, creating a small village scene. Many parents who have come to school to pick up their children for a week-long holiday had a wonderful time enjoying all this. The number of Selfies they have clicked in indeed countless.

“WISHING YOU THE HAPPIEST NEW YEAR EVER”

#New Beginning #New Learning’s #New Experiences

As we have entered into a new year, let’s just brainstorm, being elders, being parents, how could we have been better parents. Many a times, we elders will forget that our children will follow our actions rather than our words.

In such case, how could we be better role models than better speakers to our own kids?!

Here are the concepts of Japanese culture, which can help us to improve our life style and pattern, so that we could be the best role models to our children as well as to this generation students.

Japan is known as one of the best places to live as people of Japan understand what the correct way of living and its purpose behind.

# # Oubaitouri

Never compare yourself with anyone else. Everyone blossoms in their own time in different ways. Don’t judge yourself by someone else’s path.

ou” means – Cherry blossom, “Bai” means – Japanese Apricot blossom, “Tou” means – Peach blossom, “Ri” means – Japanese prime blossom.

These all flowers blooms in spring but have each uniqueness’s and individuality.

We can be just the way we are. We all have potential and should brush-up it. There is no single way to establish yourself. There are no people who are no chance to contribute to the world. We all are different, we are all equal.

# # Kaizen

Continuously improve. Constantly strive to improve across all areas of your life. Small changes accumulate and make all the difference.

# # Wabi-Sabi

Embrace imperfection. Nothing lasts, nothing is complete. Accept your own flaws and those of others. Find beauty in imperfection.

# # Gaman

Have dignity during duress. Hard times need to be met with emotional maturity and self-control. We need patience, perseverance and tolerance.

# # Ikigai

Know your reason for being. Define the reason you get up in the morning. Make it something you are good at, passionate about and that the world needs.

## Shikita ga nai

Accept and let go. Some things simple aren’t within our control. Accept what you cannot change and move on.

# # Shu-Ha-Ri

Don’t be wasteful. Everything deserves respect and gratitude. Recognize the value in what’s around you and don’t waste it.

# Kintsugi #

  • Shu: Learn the basics by following the teaching of one master. Imitating the work of great masters also falls in this stage.
  • Ha: Start experimenting, learn from masters and integrate the learning into the practice.
  • Ri: This stage focuses on innovation and adapting the learning to different situations.

Repair cracks with gold. Imperfections are a thing of beauty. The journeys we all take are golden. Our flaws are embellishments that make us more beautiful.

# Omoiyari #

Show consideration for others. Life is better when we care for others. Be thoughtful. Build compassion.

Let’s try to adapt at least few from the above and be the best parents and mentors.

Years end is neither an end nor a beginning but a journey with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.

From the Director’s Desk…

Dear Students,

My warm wishes to you. I want to suggest you how to utilize our REVISION PROGRAM to get maximum benefits.

I feel that no one in this world is born without intelligence.

God has given every one the same composition of mind. It depends on you how to utilize it for your success.

If you have a definite target in life, you can easily collect all your
powers and focus them on that goal.

If you remain determined for your goal, just like the pole star, you would not be affected by any challenges or struggle of your life. If you become a pole star, your future generations would respect you and follow in your footsteps.

The famous English poet, Robert Frost, has written a poem. I would like to quote some lines here to focus more on that topic

Woods are lovely, dark and deep,
And I’ve promises to keep.
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Here, the line “And miles to go before I sleep” has been repeated.
This is an emphasis on the self-determination and strong resolution of a person who wants to do a lot before he sleeps (dies).

You are self-illuminated, just like the Sun. You possess fuel in the form of energy and wick in the form of willpower. Then, which power can stop you from getting lighted up or move towards your goal?

You keep sharpening your willpower and caliber at all points of time. Learn to trust yourself. You possess unlimited powers within you. Do not let your self-confidence go down. Keep yourself enlightened and aware;

if you do so on a consistent basis, no one can stop you from succeeding.

The most beautiful thing in this world is to see your parents smiling and
the next best thing is to know that you are the reason behind that smile.

Most of the students are functionally very strong and behaviorally very weak and often their reason for failure is not lack of knowledge or hard work but lack of motivation and positive attitude. And for you to have positive attitude towards your preparation, it is very important to answer the following question.

” Why am I studying” ?

Every task should have a sense of purpose or motive behind it.

So, first define the purpose whether

  • it is your passion
  • to make your parents happy
  • or something else.

Some important tips to follow :

# Results of a survey said that the difference between topper and slow learner is not much in terms of subject knowledge, intelligence or hard work, but the major difference is in terms of study techniques and approach towards exam.

# You should possess a great determination so that you are ready to quit (sacrifice) the most important things you like. (Watching movies or chatting with friends or something else)

# Have concrete faith in you. You are what your thoughts are. If you think you can, then you can.

Small Tip: To achieve this state of mind, stop speaking negative about anyone or anything and see the magical power of your brain.

To get benefit in revision plan :

# Though we give a revision plan, every student must plan again in that according to his/her abilities. Suppose if you are given 2 hours for Social, then you should preplan how and what to study in that given time.

# Analyze yourself daily in the night whether you prepared the whole day as you wished. If not, then list out the mistakes made by you like chatting with friends, wasting time, not taking care of health etc. and plan accordingly how to rectify them the next day.

# Write your purpose in a book to excel in exams and read that daily at least once.

# Teachers are there to guide and support you. So, you should not hesitate to ask them even a single thing which obstructs your growth.

# This is exclusively for those who struggle to pass in the exams. Follow the
instructions given by your teachers sincerely. Do not think negatively about
them. They are just to guide you and support you.

# Suppose if you are good at Maths then give more time for preparing other subjects.

Mindset before writing an exam.

# Say to yourself before writing every exam that this is the final exam and you should put forth your maximum efforts to excel in it.

# Don’t forget to revise what you had read so many days before the exam.

# Every exam conducted will show how you have prepared for that exam.

# Your performance in exams indicates your preparation.

# Every exam gives you a chance to rectify yourself before writing the final exam.

What to do after an exam is conducted (or) papers are given back?

Analyze yourself in the following areas.

Have I presented in order ?

  • Handwriting
  • Neatness
  • Mistakes
  • Your absolute ( maximum) score.

Plan yourself how to rectify the above .

Write all the mistakes done by you in a book, Inspite of your sincere efforts, you have committed that mistakes. Hence, you should revise every time from then onwards before writing any exam in that chapter.

# Rectification is the only way to develop yourself.

Things to be kept in mind:

# You are going to revise each chapter you have studied only after 2 months. So you have to revise thoroughly now itself so that it takes very less time after 2 months.

# Your daily analysis and performance analysis in exam are going to take you to the expected peaks.

# Never think of any other thing or the persons till you reach your goal.

How to overcome exam tension?

  • Speak openly with your friends or teachers about your problem and follow their suggestions.

(Mind is like a parachute, it works best when it is open)

  • One more suggestion is that it would be better if you get experience before writing the
schedule tests. i.e. ask your friend / teacher to conduct a pretest and analyze not to repeat the mistakes.

NOTE :

Whenever you are not getting out of your problems,

read this once again. You will definitely find a solution.
