The Raksha Bandhan celebrations at Greenwood High School, Mancherial branch, were a vibrant and joyful affair under the guidance of Principal Mr. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr.G.Thirupathi.
The program was gracefully anchored by Lineesha from Grade 6 and Lalith from Grade 3. The event commenced with an insightful introduction to Raksha Bandhan by Mr. Venkatesh, a teacher who explained the significance of this cherished festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
The celebration was brought to life with a delightful dance performance by the primary siblings of the school. The audience were by captivated by the performances of Noel Prince , Jessica, Kartika and KritikNandan Avantika, Anurag , Tina baby, Sriharsha ,Sanvika, PraharshTej , Divyanshu Chandra, Rajashree Rani, Vihaan , Hansika, O. Nitya and Abhiram. Each pair of siblings performed with enthusiasm, showcasing their talent and love for one another.
Following the dance performances, Mr. Venkateswarlu delivered a speech in Telugu about the significance of Raksha Bandhan, emphasizing the cultural and emotional importance of the festival. His words resonated with everyone, reminding the audience of the deep-rooted traditions that bind families together.
The event continued with a high-energy dance performance by high school students, guided by Mrs. Sheetal. The performers, including O. Sri Vyshnavi, Surya Siddhartha, Rishihta, Lahari, Shasinivas, Moksha, Ishwith, Rakul Chandra, and Rishwita Sai, enthralled the audience with their synchronized moves and vibrant expressions.
Mr L. Srinivas then took the stage to deliver a speech in English, highlighting the universal values of love, protection, and respect that Raksha Bandhan embodies. His speech was followed by an address by the Vice Principal, Mr.G.Thirupathi, who spoke about the importance of maintaining these bonds in today’s fast-paced world.
The celebration concluded with the symbolic tying of rakhis, where female staff members tied rakhis to their male colleagues, and siblings exchanged rakhis, reinforcing the bonds of protection and affection. Greenwood High School recently held its prestigious Cabinet Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2024-2025, a momentous occasion that marks the formal induction of the newly elected student council members. The ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Director Sri. Dr. Bharadwaja Naidu, and led by Principal VVV .Naveen Kumar. This event was a celebration of leadership, responsibility, and the democratic values that our school holds dear.
The event commenced with a solemn procession of the elected student leaders, who marched confidently towards the stage, ready to embrace their roles. One by one, the other members of the cabinet, including the Discipline Secretaries, Communication Secretaries, House Secretaries, Mess Secretaries, Sports Secretaries, Health Secretaries, Education Secretary, and Event Secretary, followed suit, each taking their oaths with the same level of commitment. The House Captains from the four houses—Agni, Brahmos, Prithvi, and Trishul—also took their oaths, promising to lead their houses with enthusiasm and fair play.

When Lord Krishna accidentally cut his finger, Draupadi’s immediate act of tearing a piece of her saree to bandage his wound symbolized the deep bond of protection and care.
In return, Lord Krishna vowed to protect her in times of need, signifying the sacred promise that underlies Raksha Bandhan.
At Greenwood High School, this tradition was beautifully honored as all the girl students prepared rakhis and tied them to their brothers (the boys), symbolizing their bond of protection and affection. In return, the boys fed sweets to the girls, reinforcing the bond with blessings and love.

Welcome voice: Warm welcome was given to everyone present at the celebration, Special voice given to Principal, Vice Principal, Administrative Officer and Academic coordinator onto dais. Followed by Sanskrit Ganesh Slokam, Principal sir garlanded Great Freedom Fighters.
The unfurling of Patriotism: Our Principal hoisted the flag, students sang the National Anthem with reverence. The sky was a brilliant blue, with just a few wispy clouds, as if echoing the tri-colour unfurled above. A gentle breeze carried the whispers of patriotism, as the Sun shone brightly casting a warm glow over the celebration.
Pride in Every Step: Students marched with precision and pride , their faces beaming with joy. March in unison, showcasing their discipline and team work. The march was lead by the school band. Our Principal took the salute and the students proudly displayed their marching skills, honoring the spirit of Independence.
Patriotic Pageant: Was conducted in School Indoor stadium. Stadium was decorated by tri-colour balloons, school banner and colorful lights. Students showcased music, dance, speeches, freedom fashion.

Speeches:- were thoughtful, thought-provoking and they dress up as each in different freedom fighters like Courageous Rani Lakshmi Bhai roared the dialogue “Main Meri Jhansi Nahi Doongi” crowd of students also roared, same experience with Bhagat Singh who raised his voice with his gun in the air and said “Inquilab Zindabad”, Subhash Chandra Bose slogan “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi doonga”. Everyone experienced Goose bumps. Where real sense of courage and patriotism awoke. Tinytols dress up as Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, Rudramadevi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Kamal Nehru, to our surprise we had seen Darupadi Murmu (present President of India).
Songs:- Melodiously sang in Telugu language by our students.
Dances:- Patriotic dances were exhibited synchronism with the music and students steps. They were well dressed gave a mesmerizing feeling. Over all audience participation encourage clapping.

The school entrance was adorned with a stunning display of the national flag and colors, creating an atmosphere of national pride with flowers, banners, and streamers.
Each classroom was turned into a mini gallery, featuring handmade flags, inspiring quotes, and creative displays of freedom spirit. The school ground was also beautifully arranged with a grand backdrop of the national flag, and the stage was set for the day’s events. These decorations were made possible by the creative efforts of the Art and Craft teachers, Ms. Banaja Sahoo and Mr. G. Santosh Rao and students, who ensured that the campus radiated enthusiasm and respect for the occasion.

India celebrates its Independence Day on August 15th every year to mark the country’s freedom from 200 years of British rule in 1947. The day is a national holiday and is celebrated with parades, flag-hoisting ceremonies, speeches, and cultural events across the country.
The day was celebrated in Greenwood High School Hunter Road with great éclat. The school building was tastefully decorated with flower-pots, buntings, pictures of heroes of the freedom movement and national flags.
On this day the sense of happiness and pride can be clearly seen on the faces of all the students.
The D-Day had arrived.
NCC cadets welcomed our director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, General Manager A. Prabhu Kumar sir and Principal Manjula maam with a parade. All the dignitaries offered coconuts to the national leaders of our country followed by hoisting of flag by director sir. Each and every member present in school premises saluted the national flag and sang the national anthem.

The winners of these competitions were awarded certificates and shields by our dignitaries.

The cultural program kicked off with a special thematic presentation by the students of UKG, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, under the guidance of Mr. Mahendar and Mrs. Sunitha and voice over was rendered by O.Sri Vaishnavi from 9 th Satish Dhawan.The young ones brought to life the stories of national leaders, inspiring everyone with their performances.

The event continued with a series of performances: a dance by the girls of the 10th Einstein class, a Telugu speech by R. Sudhiksth of the 9th Satish Dhawan , and another Telugu speech by Mr. Mahendar teacher in Telugu. The 5th-grade students showcased their talent with a dance performance, and K. Abhiram of the 5th grade delivered an eloquent English speech followed by a patriotic song that resonated with everyone present.

The Bonalu festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor at Greenwood High School, Mancherial. Under the esteemed guidance of our respected Principal, Mr. Chandramohan, and Vice Principal, Mr. Tirupati, the event was a vibrant showcase of tradition and unity.
The celebration began with our anchors, J. Unnati and M. Nithya from 7th Satish Dhawan, warmly welcoming everyone. The arrival of female teachers carrying the traditional Bonalu, accompanied by the Potharajulu, set the festive mood. This was followed by the Jyoti Prajwalana ceremony, where offerings of flowers, coconut, 🥥and Bonam were made to Ammavari Mahankali.
The event featured a variety of performances, starting with a captivating dance by M. Shanvika of grade 5 to the song “Adigo Alladigo.” Respected Telugu Sir, Mr. Venkateswarlu, then delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the cultural significance of Bonalu.
Following this, grade 6 children delighted the audience with their energetic dance performance, and grade 7 students continued the momentum with another lively dance. Vishnu Sai Varma of 7th Satish Dhawan then took the stage to deliver an insightful speech, adding a thoughtful touch to the celebrations.
The festivities continued with an engaging dance performance by 8th-grade students. Another inspiring speech was given by respected Telugu Sir, Mr. Mahendar highlighting the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. The event culminated with a dynamic dance by the 9th-grade girls and boys.
A special photo session was held featuring our tiny tots dressed as Potharajulu and Goddess Mahankali, capturing the essence of the festival in its purest form.

Introduction: The “Red colour Day”Clebration was a wonderful learning activity which helped children’s to sort and classify objects based on colours, there by reinforcing cognitive skills. It was a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting brightness, joy, love and happiness. A celebration that helps (introduce) them to develop colour recognition skills.
Red colour symbolizes Good fortune and joy
Red Day is not only about recognizing and naming the colour but also about understanding its place in nature, culture and language. This Day shows “we care” about things around us. Be kind and have fun together.
Visuals: The class was decorated with all red colour hangings like red cherries, red teddy, red strawberries, red apples etc. Teachers & students were also dressed up in red colour clothes. Welcoming groups were in red balloons in hands. Students were made to sit in letter “RED”.
Verbal Creations: By students were like – Red hot, Simply Red, In the red zone, Red and proud, Red alert, Red says stop, Red Flag. “I have a bed, Which is Red”. Singing rhymes on red, Sharing red snacks.
