Pongal Celebrations – Let’s Celebrate Safely and Joyfully

Pongal Celebrations – Let’s Celebrate Safely and Joyfully

Dear Students and Parents,

Pongal is one of the most beautiful festivals of our country. It teaches us gratitude—towards the Sun God, nature, farmers, animals, and everyone who helps us live happily. I am very happy to see your excitement as you get ready to celebrate Pongal with your families and friends.

While enjoying the festival, it is very important for all of us to celebrate safely and responsibly. I would like to share a few important precautions that you must remember during Pongal, especially while flying kites and enjoying holidays.

Safety While Flying Kites Always fly kites in open places, playgrounds, away from roads, electric poles, and wires.

Never use glass-coated (manja) thread. It is very dangerous and can hurt people, birds, and animals.

Do not run on roads while chasing kites. Roads are meant for vehicles.

Fly kites only during daytime and with elders’ supervision.

If your kite gets stuck on a wire or tree, do not try to remove it yourself. Inform an elder.

Fire and Festival Safety Do not play with fire, matchsticks, or crackers without adult permission.

Maintain a safe distance while bonfires or Bhogi fires are lit.

Wear comfortable clothes and avoid loose or synthetic materials near fire.

Be Kind to Nature and Animals Pongal reminds us to respect nature. Please do not harm birds or animals.

If you see an injured bird, inform an elder immediately.

Keep water bowls on terraces or balconies for birds during this season.

Food and Health Care Enjoy festive food, but eat in moderation.

Wash your hands before eating.

Drink clean water and stay healthy.

Good Behaviour During Holidays

Be polite and respectful to elders, guests, and neighbours.

Help your parents at home.

Avoid excessive screen time and spend time with family.

Read storybooks, draw, play indoor and outdoor games safely.

My dear children, festivals are meant to spread joy, love, and togetherness. Let us celebrate Pongal with happiness, responsibility, and care for everyone around us.

I wish you and your family a Happy, Safe, and Prosperous Pongal

Enjoy the festival and come back to school with beautiful memories and smiling faces.

With warm wishes,
Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu

Our School, Our Happy Place

Our School, Our Happy Place

School is a happy and safe place where children grow with love, care, and learning. From Nursery to Class 10, every child begins a beautiful journey filled with curiosity, confidence, and joyful experiences. It is a place where little dreams take shape and big dreams begin.

For our youngest learners, school feels like a second home. They learn through play, stories, songs, colours, art, and laughter. Each smile, each rhyme, and each activity helps them learn important life skills such as sharing, listening, waiting for their turn, and expressing their feelings. Parents feel proud and reassured as they see their children become more confident, independent, and happy every day.

As children grow into primary and middle school, learning becomes more meaningful and exciting. They explore new subjects, ask questions, participate in class discussions, and discover their talents in sports, music, art, and other activities. Mistakes become learning opportunities, and efforts are celebrated. Teachers guide children with patience, understanding that every child learns differently and grows at their own pace.

In the higher classes, students learn to take responsibility for their actions and choices. They develop critical thinking, leadership skills, and teamwork. They learn the importance of discipline, perseverance, and respect. Parents support and encourage their children during this phase, standing by them through challenges and achievements alike.

The partnership between parents and teachers plays a vital role in a child’s growth. Together, they create a nurturing environment where children feel valued, heard, and motivated. Beyond academics, the school focuses on building strong values such as kindness, honesty, empathy, and gratitude—values that shape children into caring human beings.

Our school is not just about lessons and examinations. It is about building memories, friendships, confidence, and character. It is a place where children learn to believe in themselves and parents find joy in watching their children grow into responsible, thoughtful, and happy individuals.

Mindfulness for Children: Staying Calm in a Busy World

Mindfulness for Children: Staying Calm in a Busy World

In an age where life moves at remarkable speed, even young children find themselves surrounded by constant noise, information, and expectations. While childhood should be a time of curiosity and joy, the busy rhythms of modern life can often feel overwhelming for them. This is why mindfulness—the art of being present—has become a valuable tool for today’s generation.

Mindfulness simply means paying attention to the moment we are in: noticing our thoughts, our feelings, and the world around us with calm awareness. For children, this practice can have a profound impact. It helps them recognise emotions, respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively, and approach daily challenges with clarity.

Research around the world continues to highlight several benefits of mindfulness for young minds:

• Better focus and concentration

•Reduced stress and anxiety

•Improved emotional understanding

•Enhanced patience and self-control

•A greater sense of empathy and kindness

Incorporating mindfulness into a child’s everyday life does not require special tools or long sessions. Simple habits—like mindful breathing for a minute, observing nature quietly, or taking short pauses during the day—can make a meaningful difference. These small practices help children develop inner calm and the resilience to navigate life’s pressures with confidence.

Parents and guardians play an important role in this journey. When children see adults taking moments to breathe, reflect, or simply slow down, they naturally learn to value stillness. Mindfulness becomes not just a practice, but a shared experience of peace within the family.

As we guide our young learners through their growing years, it is important to remember that nurturing emotional well-being is as essential as academic growth. Teaching children how to be present, thoughtful, and balanced prepares them not just for school, but for life.

Let us encourage every child to pause, breathe, and discover the calm strength that already exists within them.
