Annual Day 2023-24 Greenwood High School@ Hunter Road

The annual day is a day when the entire school comes together to celebrate the past year’s successes and achievements. This is a day of great importance for the students, staff, and faculty. It is a time to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and to look forward to the future. It also involves a lot of fun and joy the children bring to all, through their performance on stage.

All the students and their parents were invited to witness this sensational evening.

Our beloved Director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu,  General Manager Mr. A. Prabhu Kumar, Principal Mrs. Manjula Devi, Vice Principal Mr. Mahender  and ACOs Mr. Harshavardhan and Mr Srikanth had graced the event with their presence.

Reminiscing the achievements of the year 2023-24 our principal had taken the chance to address the gathering with our success. Madam had enlightened everyone about the team spirit, values, talent in extra curricular activities, academic success, leadership qualities  that we Greenwoodians possess. Madam had also shared with us about the various events in which out children had qualified outside the school. Principal madam ended the annual report by ensuring the parents that Greenwood will inbuilt best qualities in children regardless of any obstacle that come our way.

As our beloved principal had congratulated the students, we take a moment here to make everyone aware of them and their achievements. Our dignitaries handed out certificate and prizes to the students. The announcement started with the list of School Cabinet, as dignitaries presented them with momentum of appreciation. Followed by the other awards.

Lets take a glance of the cultural activities.

The first half of the event was power packed with thematic performances which brought great significance to other cultures and displayed abundant talent of our students.

Not only did our students immerse themselves in culture of different states but also proved that we are equally talented when it comes to Theater.

We teach our children the importance of all the languages and hence the dramas were executed in Telugu Hindi and English.

Lord Shiva also known as Natraj, the dancing God, and his divine consort Goddess Parvati perform the Tamdava. It is described as a vigorous dance. That is the source of the cycle of creation preservation, and dissolution. Dance performed by goddess Parvati is known as Lasya. In Lasya, the movements are gentle and graceful. It denotes, happiness, grace and beauty. Our kids of 7th Ranjana and Vilasini unleashed a breathtaking performance by displaying the divine art form known as Tandava.

Setting the tone with their talent, Telugu drama Burrakatha captured the attention of all who were present in the premises. Following next was fun and educational Hindi drama “Rules of Traffic”. And hereafter our talented kids started gaining recognition all around.

Thematic performances including Vibe of Punjabi dance bhangra , Dandias clanking together for Garba, Indo-Aryan folk Lambadi, The story of Lord Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Krishna, etc  followed right after to ignite the fire of passion in the audience.

Chatrapathi Shivaji, is  a legend for all times. His stupendous achievements carved him a unique place in the annals of his nation. On annual day, our talented performers of class 8th  took us on a visual journey depicting the glorious tale of Shivaji Maharaj, accompanied by Marathi folk dance “Lavni” noted for its powerful rhythm, dhol beats and electrifying energy with sensual grace.

Not only did our talented kids display the cultures but also immersed themselves in their outlook wearing their exquisite garments and adapting their wardrobe. The audience was equally invested in the event without getting a single chance to detach their attention from the proceedings.

Coming towards the second half of the event, English drama took in its hands to show the importance of Success and Failure in life and how both are equally important.

Such motivational themes were continued by the seniors of our school. The students of class 9th showed great dance performance on the song Bandheya to help everyone understand that there is a meaning and purpose in life.

Fathers are one of the most beloved heroes in our stories. Life seems so incomplete without them because they add beauty that nobody can. A sentimental performance unfolded itself and brought tears in the eyes of many. That’s the power our kids hold.

Bonalu is a special kind of dance that originated in Telangana, which derives its origin from the ritual practice of paying homage to mother goddess. There was an epidemic in the year 1869. The people of this region were so perplexed that they found no solution to this natural crisis. Finally, she relieved the region from the cruel hands of the epidemic. Intensely possessed by the spirit of the mother goddess, our talented performers of class 9th  danced in tune with the drummers of Bonalu with the power pack and exemplary performance.

Moving forward towards the final part of the evening. We cannot miss some masti and maza right? Not only did our talented kids on the stage but the kids off the stage, parents, school faculty and everyone around enjoyed the sizzling Bollywood fusion which included songs of Shahrukh Khan and well of course his Signature pose.

Students showed their marvelous energy, made the audience dance, mesmerized them with their steps and kept the beat pumping until the very end.

The dignitaries had taken photos with all the students and appreciated their talents. The smile on their faces  made the evening much more memorable.

Our Beloved Director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu appreciate the teamwork of the teachers as well as of the non teaching faculty and staff and expressed his joy for the successful event.

Special thanks to all those who worked behind the curtain and made the event a success. Without you all it wouldn’t have been possible.
