Social Science Quiz Competitions – 2025 zInquissitive Explorers Challenge

The Social Science Department conducted the Social Science Quiz Competition on 28th November 2025 with the objective of promoting curiosity, academic excellence, and enthusiasm toward Social Science subjects among students of Classes 4 to 7. The event saw an enthusiastic response from students, who actively participated at every stage of the competition.

2. Preliminary Screening Test (20thNovember 2025)

To ensure fair selection and appropriate representation from all participating grades, a Preliminary/Screening Test was conducted on 20thNovember 2025.

  • Separate question papers were prepared for Classes 4, 5, 6, and 7.
  • Difficulty level and content were based on their respective standards and Social Science syllabus.
  • The test included questions from Geography, History, Civics, and General Awareness.

After evaluation, selected students were given one week of preparation time before the final quiz competition.

3. Final Quiz Competition (28 November 2025)

The main event was held on 28th November 2025 in the school auditorium. The program began with:

  • Introduction of dignitaries,
  • A brief address by the event coordinator,
  • Introduction of the four shortlisted teams  and
  • Explanation of rules, scoring procedures, and round formats.

A total of 4 teams, each consisting of 5 students, are qualified for the final quiz:

5. Structure of the Quiz Rounds

The final quiz comprised four competitive rounds, each designed to test conceptual knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork.

Round 1 – National Symbols (8 Questions)

  • Direct questions to each team
  • Bounce/Passing allowed
  • Scoring:
    • Correct: 10 points
    • No negative marking

This round tested the teams’ knowledge of Indian national identity and symbolism.

Round 2 – Map Masters (4 Questions)

  • Included both direct and bounce and pounce questions
  • Focused on map-reading skills and geographical awareness

Scoring:

  • Direct Answer: 20 points
  • Pounce Answer: 25 points
  • Wrong pounce: 5 points

This round encouraged analytical skills and spatial understanding.

Round 3 – Freedom Fighters Round (8 Questions)

  • Direct questions with bounce/passing
  • Highlighted India’s freedom struggle and key personalities

Scoring:

  • Correct Answer: 20 points
  • No negative marking

Teams showcased their historical knowledge and recall abilities.

Round 4 – Buzzer Round (6 Questions)

  • 5 open buzzer questions
  • 1 final Bumper Question containing 5 sub-questions

Scoring:

  • Correct Buzzer Answer: 20 points
  • Wrong Buzzer Answer: 5 points
  • Bumper Question:
    • All 5 sub-questions correct = extra 20 bonus points

This round tested instant thinking, accuracy, and decision-making under pressure.

6. Conduct of the Program

The event was conducted smoothly and professionally. The quizmaster ensured clarity of questions and adherence to rules. Audience engagement remained high throughout the competition.

After the completion of all four rounds, the final scores were calculated, and the results were formally announced by the dignitaries. Certificates and encouragement were given to all teams for their participation, sportsmanship, and exceptional effort.

7. Conclusion

The Social Science Quiz Competition 2025 was a grand success, reflecting the hard work of the Social Science Department and the enthusiastic participation of students. The event helped motivate students to explore Social Science beyond textbooks and develop confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

The department extends its gratitude to the Director, Principal, staff members, and volunteers who supported the successful organization of this event.
