Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, celebrated the New Year 2026 with great splendour and enthusiasm on the evening of 31st December 2025. The school campus transformed into a vibrant hub of festivity, illuminated with elegant décor, dazzling lights, and a celebratory ambience The event stood as a testimony to the institution’s commitment to holistic education, fostering cultural appreciation, creativity, and strong moral values alongside academic excellence.


Grand Welcome and Esteemed Presence
- The programme commenced with the gracious arrival of the school leadership of Greenwood Group of Schools and dignitaries. The occasion was honoured by the presence of:

Teachers, Students, and supporting staff gathered from 8:00 PM onwards, dressed in festive attire, eagerly awaiting an evening of celebration and cultural brilliance.

Cultural Performances
The programme began on an auspicious and devotional note with “Aigiri Nandini” by Poorvi and team (Class VI Girls), invoking divine blessings, followed by the soulful “Namo Namaha” by Praharika and team (Class VII Raman Girls), which set a serene and spiritual tone for the evening.
The cultural journey continued with a powerful Kantara-themed classical dance by Dhanasri and team (Classes VI–VII Girls) and a deeply moving devotional presentation “Thaye Yashoda” by Bhavyathesna and team (Class VIII Curie), portraying the tender bond between Yashoda and Lord Krishna. High-energy group performances such as “Mukabula” by Sadiksh and team (Class V Boys) and “Toofan” by Jalaj and team (Class VI Darwin) thrilled the audience, while folk and traditional rhythms were celebrated through “Bam Bole” by Dhanraj and team (Class VII Tesla) and “Malhari” by Rishi and team (Classes IV & V Boys).




Colourful folk and melody-based dances including “Rangela Maro Dholna” by Hansika and team, “Gira Gira Gingirala” by Akshith and team, “Makhna Drive” by Harshini and team, and “Ranu Ranu” by Rishika and team added vibrancy and grace to the programme. Regional favourites such as “Mayadari Mysamma,” “Oridevuda,” and “Merawala” performed by senior and middle school students were well received.


Several performances carried strong social messages. “Perugala Peddireddy” highlighted rural traditions, while “Pokiri Ponga” reflected youthful spirit. The skit “Murder of English” by Class VIII students effectively emphasized the importance of proper language usage. Social awareness was further reinforced through “Dangal Dangal,” “Hemantha Manchulo Suridu,” a Skit-cum-Dance on the Hunger Theme, and the impactful “Save Water” mime.


Graceful and contemporary performances such as “Mellaga Tellarinde,” “Gundelona,” “Tai Se Tai Mila,” and the energetic “Mighty Dance” kept the audience engaged. Festive and regional numbers including “Peddapuli,” “Marokka Sari,” and “Tarara Bolo Tarara” added variety and excitement.


Entertainment continued with popular cinematic and thematic presentations like “Sankara Dada MBBS,” “Vaibe Undele,” “Chandamama Okkati,” “Sankranthi Sandhale,” and “Illuminati.” Patriotic and cultural pride were reflected through “Freedom” and “Ravuthalli.” High-spirited performances such as “Pushpa,” “Rowdy Baby,” and “Rama Rama” drew loud applause.
Humour and creativity were showcased through the skit “Call Me Brothers – Confused Characters” and a lively Mimicry performance. The programme concluded on a grand note with “Chukkala Chunni,” “Gangnam Style,” “Dangerous,” the powerful thematic presentation “The Strength of Unity,” followed by the festive “Blockbuster Pongal” and the melodious finale “Kammani Kalalaki.”


Stage, Sound, and Digital Experience
The stage décor, enhanced with artistic backdrops, fancy lighting, and festive embellishments, created a visually captivating setting. A professional DJ and advanced sound system elevated the overall experience, keeping the audience engaged throughout the programme.
To ensure wider reach and inclusivity, the entire celebration was live-streamed on YouTube, allowing parents and well-wishers who could not attend in person to be part of the joyous occasion.
Cake Cutting and New Year Countdown
A special highlight of the evening was the New Year cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity, gratitude, and fresh beginnings. As the clock struck midnight, the Greenwood High School family welcomed the New Year together with cheers, smiles, and renewed optimism.

A Special Luncheon – January 1, 2026
The celebrations continued into the New Year with a Special Luncheon on January 1, 2026, bringing together students and teachers for a joyful time of interaction and fellowship over delicious food.
Following the luncheon, a friendly cricket match between teachers and senior students was organized. The match was played in a spirited yet sportsmanlike manner, showcasing teamwork, enthusiasm, and mutual respect, with students emerging victorious.
The New Year Celebrations 2025–2026 at Greenwood High School were a resounding success, celebrating culture, creativity, values, and togetherness. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also strengthened bonds within the school.
As Greenwood High School stepped into the New Year, hearts were filled with hope, determination, and positivity—making the celebration a truly memorable and inspiring beginning to the year ahead.
