Bonalu Celebrations @Mancherial Greenwood

The Bonalu celebrations at Greenwood High School, Mancherial branch were conducted in a grand and traditional manner under the guidance of Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi.

In the morning session, teachers *Mrs. M. Soujanya Latha, Mrs. N. Sailaja, Mrs. P. Rajitha, and *Assistant Mrs. Bhagya prepared paayasam as part of the traditional offering to the goddess. At the same time, Mr. J. Suresh Kumar, Mrs. P. Sunitha, Mrs. D. Sheethal, and Mrs. Tejaswi took the responsibility of decorating the Bonam pots beautifully, adding to the festive spirit.

After the preparations, students from classes 6 to 10 participated in a rally to bring awareness about the *significance of the Bonalu festival. Later, the **students of classes 9 and 10, along with their teachers, Vice Principal, and Principal, visited Gandhari Maisamma Temple. There, they offered *pooja with devotion and sought the blessings of the Goddess for the well-being of everyone.

In the *afternoon session, all the students and teachers assembled on the school ground to witness and enjoy various cultural programs organised to mark the occasion. The program started with a **dance performance by the 4th and 5th-grade girls. This was followed by a *melodious song presented by Vihika from Grade 2.

Next, students from *grades 6 and 7 presented a lively dance performance, after which **Unnathi and Srinithya delivered speeches in Telugu, highlighting the importance of the festival. Following this, *8th-grade students performed a traditional dance.


Hey, Hi


*Anuradha Kumari from Grade 6 delivered a speech in Hindi, explaining the cultural significance of Bonalu. Later, **9th-grade students performed an energetic dance performance. After this, *Pranitha Sri from Grade 6 gave a speech in English on the importance of festivals in maintaining cultural traditions.

Further, Mr. Venkateshwarlu, a teacher, delivered a speech in Telugu appreciating the efforts of students and staff and reminding everyone of the importance of preserving such cultural traditions.

Finally, *Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan Sir addressed the gathering, sharing his thoughts on the significance of Bonalu and the values it imparts. The celebrations came to an end with a *Vote of Thanks by Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi Sir, who appreciated everyone’s efforts in making the program successful and memorable.

The entire celebration was filled with devotion, joy, and cultural pride, leaving everyone with happy memories of the day. HAPPY BONALU!!
