On 7th November 2025, Greenwood High School conducted a special assembly at 10:00 a.m. to commemorate the completion of 150 glorious years of the national song “Vande Mataram.” Organized in accordance with the call given by the Government of India, the celebration aimed to remind students of the song’s historical importance and its deep patriotic essence.

Around 1,300 students along with all the staff members gathered on the school premises, holding tricolour flags and singing “Vande Mataram” with great pride and devotion, creating an atmosphere filled with national spirit.

Telugu Department HOD Mr. Jampala Ramesh addressed the gathering and beautifully explained the origin, meaning, and significance of the song, highlighting how Bankim Chandra Chatterjee composed it in 1875, included it in his novel Anandamath, and how it became a unifying force during India’s freedom movement.

The programme was held under the able guidance of our Academic Principal, Mr. V. V. V. Naveen Kumar, and Administrative Principal, Mr. T. Pavan Kumar, whose constant encouragement made the event inspiring and memorable.

The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and gratitude towards our nation and its rich legacy of freedom.
