Raksha Bandhan Celebrations at Greenwood @Mancherial


Under the able guidance of Principal Mr. R. Chandramohan and Vice Principal Mr. G. Thirupathi, Greenwood High School, Mancherial, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great joy and enthusiasm, reflecting the true spirit of the festival.

The day’s events began with the gathering of students and staff on the school ground. The program was formally announced by Mr. B. Sravan Kumar, Biology teacher, who warmly welcomed everyone. The celebration was gracefully anchored by B. Hanika and Karthikeya, whose lively presence kept the audience engaged throughout.

The sequence of performances commenced with an English speech by V. Adhyay of Grade 8, highlighting the cultural and emotional significance of Raksha Bandhan. This was followed by the pre-primary Rakhi tying ceremony, symbolizing innocence, love, and the pure bond between siblings.

D. Shreyan then delivered a touching speech in Telugu, after which Rishith Sai of Grade 8 and Rakul Chandra of Grade 5 presented a delightful conversation about Rakhi, charming the audience with their expressions and dialogue.

The primary students took the stage next with an energetic dance performance choreographed by Mrs. Saba and Mrs. Sheetal, winning the hearts of everyone present. This was followed by a joint Telugu speech by Samanya Sri and Seejal of Grade 8, and an English speech by Lineesha, each expressing the festival’s values from different perspectives.

The high school students then delivered a captivating dance performance choreographed by Mrs. Rajitha and Mrs. Tejaswi, blending tradition with vibrant moves. Mr. Venkateshwaru, Telugu faculty, shared his thoughts in a meaningful speech, while Mrs. Anuradha addressed the gathering in Hindi, adding linguistic and cultural diversity to the program.

One of the most heartfelt moments was the female teachers tying Rakhis to male teachers, reinforcing the theme of respect, unity, and affection beyond familial bonds. The Principal, Mr. Chandramohan, then addressed the gathering, appreciating the participants and encouraging students to uphold the values symbolized by Raksha Bandhan.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anand, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the event memorable.

The entire program beautifully portrayed the cultural richness, emotional warmth, and spirit of togetherness that Raksha Bandhan stands for.
