The Teacher’s Day celebration at Greenwood Gopalpur began with a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, as the Principal, Ms. Kavita Chawla, garlanded his photo and lit the ceremonial lamp. This meaningful gesture set the stage for a day of joy and appreciation for the hard work of our teachers.
The cultural program opened with a delightful welcome dance performed by Rushika and Dhriti from Class 2, followed by eloquent speeches in English, Hindi, and Telugu delivered by Shivani, Chakrika, Sai Chethan, Sai Siddhartha, Shreyaan, and a remarkable speech by Shrihit. Each student spoke with admiration and respect for the teaching community.
We also witnessed energetic and beautifully choreographed dance performances by Class 3, who performed to “Shukriya,” and Class 4, who showcased their talent with “Mileh Hai Tum Humko.” These performances brought smiles and applause from everyone present.
The formal program concluded with a motivational address by Principal Ms. Kavita Chawla, who shared words of wisdom and encouragement, followed by a Vote of Thanks by Kousar Sulthana, expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.
The celebration continued with a special Self-Governance Day where students from Class 6 and 7 took on the role of teachers for the rest of the day. Under the guidance and observation of their teachers, these students experienced the responsibility and joy of teaching, making it a unique and enriching experience for all.
In the evening, after the students were dismissed, the teachers enjoyed a series of fun-filled games and activities, along with refreshments. The day was a perfect blend of celebration, reflection, and enjoyment, leaving everyone with cherished memories.

Despite being a king, Krishna welcomed Sudama, a poor Brahmin, with open arms and treated him with utmost respect. Sports are vital in a student’s life as they contribute to overall development beyond academics. Engaging in sports promotes physical health, helping students stay fit and active, which reduces the risk of various health issues. It also enhances mental well-being by relieving stress and boosting mood through physical activity.
Participating in sports teaches important life skills like discipline, teamwork, and time management. It fosters social connections and builds strong relationships, while also providing opportunities for leadership and learning to handle success and failure gracefully.
Moreover, involvement in sports can improve academic performance by enhancing focus and discipline. It also instills values such as fairness, respect, and perseverance, which are crucial for personal growth. A significant event, the Investiture Ceremony, was held at Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy, on 16th August 2024, marking the formal appointment of newly elected student leaders and cabinet members for the academic year 2024-25. This event reflected the school’s dedication to inculcating leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility among its students.
The school’s open auditorium was impeccably arranged for the Investiture Ceremony. The setup featured a well-organized stage for dignitaries, with seating meticulously arranged for guests and students. Floral decorations adorned the venue, and the sound and lighting systems were carefully calibrated to enhance the event. When Lord Krishna accidentally cut his finger, Draupadi’s immediate act of tearing a piece of her saree to bandage his wound symbolized the deep bond of protection and care.
In return, Lord Krishna vowed to protect her in times of need, signifying the sacred promise that underlies Raksha Bandhan.
At Greenwood High School, this tradition was beautifully honored as all the girl students prepared rakhis and tied them to their brothers (the boys), symbolizing their bond of protection and affection. In return, the boys fed sweets to the girls, reinforcing the bond with blessings and love.

Welcome voice: Warm welcome was given to everyone present at the celebration, Special voice given to Principal, Vice Principal, Administrative Officer and Academic coordinator onto dais. Followed by Sanskrit Ganesh Slokam, Principal sir garlanded Great Freedom Fighters.
The unfurling of Patriotism: Our Principal hoisted the flag, students sang the National Anthem with reverence. The sky was a brilliant blue, with just a few wispy clouds, as if echoing the tri-colour unfurled above. A gentle breeze carried the whispers of patriotism, as the Sun shone brightly casting a warm glow over the celebration.
Pride in Every Step: Students marched with precision and pride , their faces beaming with joy. March in unison, showcasing their discipline and team work. The march was lead by the school band. Our Principal took the salute and the students proudly displayed their marching skills, honoring the spirit of Independence.
Patriotic Pageant: Was conducted in School Indoor stadium. Stadium was decorated by tri-colour balloons, school banner and colorful lights. Students showcased music, dance, speeches, freedom fashion.

Speeches:- were thoughtful, thought-provoking and they dress up as each in different freedom fighters like Courageous Rani Lakshmi Bhai roared the dialogue “Main Meri Jhansi Nahi Doongi” crowd of students also roared, same experience with Bhagat Singh who raised his voice with his gun in the air and said “Inquilab Zindabad”, Subhash Chandra Bose slogan “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi doonga”. Everyone experienced Goose bumps. Where real sense of courage and patriotism awoke. Tinytols dress up as Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, Rudramadevi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Kamal Nehru, to our surprise we had seen Darupadi Murmu (present President of India).
Songs:- Melodiously sang in Telugu language by our students.
Dances:- Patriotic dances were exhibited synchronism with the music and students steps. They were well dressed gave a mesmerizing feeling. Over all audience participation encourage clapping.

Greenwood High School, Hasanparthy celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with enthusiasm and pride on August 15, 2024. The event was a beautiful blend of patriotism, cultural performances, and recognition of achievements, featuring the school’s devotional honoring this important day.
Decorations and Preparations:The preparations for Independence Day started well in advance, transforming the entire school into a patriotic scene. The school entrance was adorned with a stunning display of the national flag and colors, creating an atmosphere of national pride with flowers, banners, and streamers.
Each classroom was turned into a mini gallery, featuring handmade flags, inspiring quotes, and creative displays of freedom spirit. The school ground was also beautifully arranged with a grand backdrop of the national flag, and the stage was set for the day’s events. These decorations were made possible by the creative efforts of the Art and Craft teachers, Ms. Banaja Sahoo and Mr. G. Santosh Rao and students, who ensured that the campus radiated enthusiasm and respect for the occasion.
Main Highlights:
Dignitaries and Guard of Honour: The event began with a warm welcome for the dignitaries on the dais, accompanied by a traditional guard of honour, creating a respectful scene for the celebration. The event was graced by the presence of honorable Directors Sri. Challa Dharma Reddy and Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu, the honorable guest of the day Sri. G. Yellappa Naidu, General Manager Sri. A. Prabhu Kumar, Academic Principal Sri. VVV Naveen Kumar, Administrative Principal Sri.T. Pavan Kumar, Vice principal Sri. V. Suresh Kumar, Chief Financial Officer Mr. Shaik Rabbani and the Academic Coordinator Smt. P. Kanthi.
Prayers and Tributes: The ceremony started with prayers and tributes to the freedom fighters who played a crucial role in India’s independence. This moment of reflection highlighted the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Flag Hoisting: The flag hoisting ceremony by the dignitaries was the main event. The national flag was raised with great pride, accompanied by the national anthem, instilling a sense of unity and patriotism among students and staff.
Parade: After the flag hoisting, a parade featuring teachers and students from the four houses presented their coordinated efforts and school spirit, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Speeches: The event included speeches by dignitaries, teachers, and students, emphasizing the importance of Independence Day and reflecting on our struggle for freedom and nation’s progress over the past 78 years.
During his speech, Honourable Director Sri. Challa Dharma Reddy delivered an inspiring speech. He paid tribute to our freedom fighters, acknowledging their immense contributions to India’s independence. He highlighted that, although countless individuals played a role in the freedom struggle, only a few are remembered for their outstanding efforts. He drew a parallel to the students, encouraging them to strive for excellence so that their achievements may also be specially recognized and rememberedin the future.
In his speech, Sri. Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu delivered a heartfelt speech, paying tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed for India’s independence and acknowledging the efforts of current leaders in advancing the nation’s development. He emphasized the critical role of students in this ongoing journey, encouraging them to actively contribute their efforts in their studies. He highlighted that while parents and teachers provide essential support, it is ultimately the students’ dedication and hard work in the classroom that will lead to their success and the nation’s continued growth.
While giving the speech Sri. G. Yellappa Naidu sir reminisced about his childhood experiences during the struggles for freedom and the early days of independentIndia. He urged students to work hard and follow the guidance of their elders, emphasizing the importance of discipline and dedication in achieving their goals.

HulaHoops Performance: An energetic Hula Hoops performance by Boys
Aerobic Dance: An energetic routine demonstrating coordination and rhythm was performed by Class VIII Boys.
Dumbbell Show: A disciplined display of strength and synchronization was displayed by girl students.

Although these elections may appear to be simple school activities, they play a much larger role in the development of students and the school community.

India celebrates its Independence Day on August 15th every year to mark the country’s freedom from 200 years of British rule in 1947. The day is a national holiday and is celebrated with parades, flag-hoisting ceremonies, speeches, and cultural events across the country.
The day was celebrated in Greenwood High School Hunter Road with great éclat. The school building was tastefully decorated with flower-pots, buntings, pictures of heroes of the freedom movement and national flags.
On this day the sense of happiness and pride can be clearly seen on the faces of all the students.
The D-Day had arrived.
NCC cadets welcomed our director Dr. G. Bharadwaja Naidu sir, General Manager A. Prabhu Kumar sir and Principal Manjula maam with a parade. All the dignitaries offered coconuts to the national leaders of our country followed by hoisting of flag by director sir. Each and every member present in school premises saluted the national flag and sang the national anthem.
“United we stand, as one India” Following this phrase the school staff and students came together to organize an exquisite event.

The students of Primary and High school gave informative speeches about the struggle and achievements of our country.
Little stars of Primary and talented champs of High school took over the stage with their melodious voice. They sang many patriotic songs igniting the feel of love towards the nation.

To show the love and patriotism towards the country, students of primary and high school performed dance on various songs like Indian patriotic mashup, Military scenes as well as pyramids.
Hamsika of class 10th had also taken this opportunity to show their support towards this Red Letter Day by playing the national anthem on the keyboard.
Greenwood High School Hunter Road had conducted literary events like Essay Writing, Singing, Elocution, Drawing, Story Telling competitions in school, prior to the event.
The winners of these competitions were awarded certificates and shields by our dignitaries.
NCC cadet’s were awarded by the our Director sir for their success after the 2nd year Camp who were guided by NCC guide Ms.R. Sajani.
Director sir gave a speech which motivated all the students to lead a good life.
With vote of thanks the event had come to an end.
Overall, it was a fun filled learning and enjoyable day for the tiny tots.
