The first half of the event was power packed with thematic performances which brought great significance to other cultures and displayed abundant talent of our students.
Not only did our students immerse themselves in culture of different states but also proved that we are equally talented when it comes to Theater.
We teach our children the importance of all the languages and hence the dramas were executed in Telugu Hindi and English.
Lord Shiva also known as Natraj, the dancing God, and his divine consort Goddess Parvati perform the Tamdava. It is described as a vigorous dance. That is the source of the cycle of creation preservation, and dissolution. Dance performed by goddess Parvati is known as Lasya. In Lasya, the movements are gentle and graceful. It denotes, happiness, grace and beauty. Our kids of 7th Ranjana and Vilasini unleashed a breathtaking performance by displaying the divine art form known as Tandava.
Setting the tone with their talent, Telugu drama Burrakatha captured the attention of all who were present in the premises. Following next was fun and educational Hindi drama “Rules of Traffic”. And hereafter our talented kids started gaining recognition all around.
Thematic performances including Vibe of Punjabi dance bhangra , Dandias clanking together for Garba, Indo-Aryan folk Lambadi, The story of Lord Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Krishna, etc followed right after to ignite the fire of passion in the audience.
Chatrapathi Shivaji, is a legend for all times. His stupendous achievements carved him a unique place in the annals of his nation. On annual day, our talented performers of class 8th took us on a visual journey depicting the glorious tale of Shivaji Maharaj, accompanied by Marathi folk dance “Lavni” noted for its powerful rhythm, dhol beats and electrifying energy with sensual grace.
Not only did our talented kids display the cultures but also immersed themselves in their outlook wearing their exquisite garments and adapting their wardrobe. The audience was equally invested in the event without getting a single chance to detach their attention from the proceedings.

Such motivational themes were continued by the seniors of our school. The students of class 9th showed great dance performance on the song Bandheya to help everyone understand that there is a meaning and purpose in life.
Fathers are one of the most beloved heroes in our stories. Life seems so incomplete without them because they add beauty that nobody can. A sentimental performance unfolded itself and brought tears in the eyes of many. That’s the power our kids hold.
Bonalu is a special kind of dance that originated in Telangana, which derives its origin from the ritual practice of paying homage to mother goddess. There was an epidemic in the year 1869. The people of this region were so perplexed that they found no solution to this natural crisis. Finally, she relieved the region from the cruel hands of the epidemic. Intensely possessed by the spirit of the mother goddess, our talented performers of class 9th danced in tune with the drummers of Bonalu with the power pack and exemplary performance.
Moving forward towards the final part of the evening. We cannot miss some masti and maza right? Not only did our talented kids on the stage but the kids off the stage, parents, school faculty and everyone around enjoyed the sizzling Bollywood fusion which included songs of Shahrukh Khan and well of course his Signature pose.

This time round, I want to reiterate the undeniable value of the co-Curricular activities in child’s education. This, I hope to be thought provoking for many students and parents.
Education is not confined to textbooks and classrooms; it extends beyond the realms of traditional academics. Co-curricular activities play a pivotal role in shaping well-rounded individuals. These activities, conducted outside the regular academic curriculum, are instrumental in fostering holistic development among students.
Firstly, co-curricular activities provide a platform for students to explore and nurture their talents and interests beyond the confines of the syllabus. Whether it’s participating in a debate, joining a sports team, or engaging in the arts, these activities enable students to discover their passions and strengths. This exploration aids in personal growth, helping students build self-confidence and a positive self-image.
Moreover, co-curricular activities contribute significantly to the development of essential life skills. Teamwork, communication, leadership, and time management are just a few examples of skills honed through active participation in these activities. Unlike the structured nature of the classroom, co-curricular settings present real-life scenarios, requiring students to adapt and collaborate effectively. These skills are not only crucial for academic success but also for thriving in the professional world.
In addition to fostering personal and interpersonal skills, co-curricular activities enhance physical health. Physical education classes, sports, and fitness programs promote an active lifestyle, instilling the importance of health and well-being. Regular physical activity not only improves physical fitness but also contributes to better mental health, concentration, and overall academic performance.
Furthermore, co-curricular activities play a pivotal role in promoting social cohesion and a sense of belonging among students. Clubs, societies, and events create a community beyond the classroom, fostering friendships and camaraderie. This sense of belonging is vital for a positive school experience, as it provides emotional support and a network of like-minded individuals.
Importantly, co-curricular activities offer a break from the monotony of academic studies, preventing burnout and fatigue. Engaging in activities outside the classroom provides a refreshing change of pace, rejuvenating students’ minds and enhancing their focus when they return to their studies. This balance between academics and extracurricular pursuits contributes to overall well-being and mental health.
The importance of co-curricular activities cannot be overstated; neither understated. These activities not only complement academic learning but also play a crucial role in shaping well-rounded individuals. They provide a platform for talent exploration, foster essential life skills, enhance physical health, promote social cohesion, and contribute to overall well-being. As educational institutions continue to recognize the significance of holistic development, co-curricular activities stand as integral components in nurturing the leaders and achievers of tomorrow.

Let me take some time to talk about something, that is not only dear to my heart but also integral to the development of every individual – the aesthetic sense and the integration of art into our lives.
Let’s start by understanding what aesthetic sense truly means. Aesthetic sense refers to our ability to appreciate and recognize beauty in the world around us. It’s about finding joy and inspiration in the colours of a sunset, the melody of a song, or the strokes of a painting. Developing a strong aesthetic sense is crucial as it enhances our quality of life, enriches our experiences, and fosters a deeper connection with the world.
Now, the integration of art into our lives is like adding a splash of colour to a blank canvas. Art is not just about paintings hanging in a gallery; it’s a dynamic force that surrounds us. It’s in the way we arrange our rooms, the melodies we hum, and even the way we express ourselves through dance or poetry.
Art has the power to evoke emotions, stimulate creativity, and broaden our perspectives. By integrating art into our daily routines, we infuse our lives with a sense of beauty and creativity that goes beyond the ordinary. It’s about finding art in the simple things, whether it’s the swirls of steam rising from a cup of tea or the laughter of children playing in the schoolyard.
As an educational institution, we recognize the importance of nurturing the artistic talents of our students. Our art programs are not just about creating future artists; they are about fostering a lifelong appreciation for creativity and beauty. Through art, we encourage our students to explore, experiment, and express themselves in ways that go beyond textbooks and exams.
By integrating art into our curriculum, we are not only preparing our students for future careers but also helping them become well-rounded individuals who can find joy and inspiration in every aspect of life. It’s about equipping them with the tools to navigate the complexities of the world with a creative and open mind.
In conclusion, let us strive to cultivate a strong aesthetic sense within ourselves and our children. Let us embrace the integration of art into our lives, recognizing its transformative power. As we embark on this journey, let us remember that a life infused with art is a life truly well-lived.
To celebrate a fundamental aspect of our identity and heritage—The International Mother Language Day. This day, established by the United Nations, reminds us of the importance of linguistic diversity and the preservation of our mother tongues.
It is a day to reflect on the power of language in shaping our cultures, fostering dialogue, and preserving our unique identities. Here is Pravinya of Class 5 of Greenwood Gopalpur, asking us come together to honor and celebrate the beauty and significance of our mother languages.
The morning sun gently filtered through the trees, casting a tranquil glow over the grounds of Greenwood Gopalpur School. Students gathered in the open courtyard, eagerly anticipating the meditation session led by their beloved teacher. As the gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh flowers, the students settled into a comfortable position, ready to embark on a journey of inner peace and mindfulness.
The teacher, a beacon of calm and wisdom, began the session with a few simple instructions. She encouraged the students to close their eyes and focus on their breath, allowing all thoughts to gently fade away. With each inhale and exhale, the students felt themselves becoming more grounded and centered, letting go of the stresses and worries of the outside world.
As the session progressed, the teacher guided the students through various meditation techniques, such as body scans and loving-kindness meditation. With her soothing voice as their guide, the students delved deep into their inner selves, exploring the vastness of their minds and hearts.
As the session drew to a close, the students slowly opened their eyes, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The teacher smiled warmly at them, reminding them to carry this sense of peace and mindfulness with them throughout the day.
The meditation session at Greenwood Gopalpur School was not just a moment of tranquility; it was a profound experience that touched the hearts and minds of all who participated. It was a reminder of the power of meditation to heal, inspire, and connect us to our true selves.
It is important that each and every child is skillful in using language effectively to convey ideas, emotions, or messages in a powerful and impactful manner. This in fact involves using the right combination of well-chosen words, appropriate tone and compelling delivery. To poster this skill among the children very effectively, the best possible tool is the stage in the school. Now, I would like to draw the focus of all to the great utility of the school stage.
The stage serves as a powerful platform for self-expression, particularly for children, fostering a nurturing environment that encourages them to showcase their unique talents. This dynamic space allows young minds to explore and communicate their thoughts, feelings, and abilities in a manner that transcends traditional learning methods.
For many children, the stage becomes a canvas upon which they paint their stories, dreams, and passions. Whether it’s through acting, singing, or dancing, the stage provides an avenue for self-discovery and the development of confidence. By allowing children to express themselves in front of an audience, we empower them to embrace their individuality and celebrate their inherent talents.
Moreover, the stage serves as a medium for fostering creativity and imagination. When children are encouraged to step onto the platform and share their talents, they are motivated to think outside the box, experiment with new ideas, and cultivate a sense of innovation. This not only enhances their artistic abilities but also nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving skills, crucial for their overall development.
The experience of using the stage for self-expression goes beyond mere performance; it instills essential life skills. Public speaking, teamwork, and overcoming stage fright are valuable lessons gained through this process. As children engage in collaborative efforts to put together a performance, they learn the importance of cooperation and communication, skills that will undoubtedly benefit them in various aspects of their lives.
Furthermore, showcasing talents on stage provides a sense of accomplishment and builds self-esteem. When children receive positive feedback and applause from an audience, it reinforces their self-worth and motivates them to continue exploring their capabilities. This positive reinforcement creates a cycle of growth and empowerment, nurturing a generation of confident and resilient individuals.
I wish that all the students learn to utilize the stage for self-expression and for showcasing their talents in a transformative educational approach.
It goes beyond the conventional classroom setting, providing a holistic platform for personal and creative development.
By embracing the stage, the children may become confident, creative, and resilient individuals, laying the foundation for a future generation that is unafraid of expressing themselves and contribute meaningfully to society.
On February 13, 2024, Greenwood High School organized a remarkable event where 36 student artists of Greenwood Art Club gathered at Warangal Fort to participate in a live pencil drawing session of Warangal Fort. The event was guided and facilitated by the school’s art department teachers Ms. Banaja Sahoo and Mr. G. Santosh Rao

In this instance, the subject was Warangal Fort, a significant landmark or scene chosen for its cultural or historical relevance. The artists used pencils as their primary medium, allowing them to explore shades, textures, and intricacies of the subject with precision and creativity.
Enhanced Observation Skills: Live drawing events provide students with the opportunity to observe their subjects closely, paying attention to details, shapes, and proportions. This enhances their observation skills, which are crucial for any artist.
Improved Artistic Techniques: Participating in live drawing sessions helps students refine their artistic techniques, such as shading, perspective, and composition. They can experiment with different styles and approaches under the guidance of experienced teachers.
Cultural Appreciation: By choosing a subject like Warangal Fort, students not only engage in artistic expression but also develop a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage and surroundings.
Collaborative Learning: Working alongside peers and receiving feedback from teachers fosters a collaborative learning environment. Students can exchange ideas, learn from each other’s techniques, and support one another throughout the creative process.
Boost in Confidence: Successfully completing a live drawing session boosts students’ confidence in their artistic abilities. It encourages them to take creative risks, overcome challenges, and persevere until they achieve their desired outcomes.
The management of Greenwood Group of Schools, believe events like the live pencil drawing of Warangal Fort contribute significantly to the holistic development of students, nurturing their creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness.
